I am fine with the Quorn sausages , never had the ready meals or quorn "ham" but I used to love the chicken style pieces until recently! They taste super different and make me feel "off" my mum says the same as always! Not sure why it would suddenly turn my stomach when I was fine with it before! I only buy it when on offer as can be a bit pricey!

I can't manage Quorn either - lots of cramps and sickness. It's not really food anyway; I'd rather eat more veg.

Apparently with some people (I was one) the intolerance has a build-up effect. It wasn't until the third time I had it that I was violently ill, the previous two times I was just a bit sick and put it down to something else.

First time, I had a bad cold, and had dug out an ancient bottle of brandy from the back of the cupboard and had a bit of that for medicinal purposes. So after eating a Quorn pie and being ill I blamed the brandy, thinking it had "gone off".

Second time we were at a barbecue, and my OH got himself a veggie burger. I had one bite of it, and woke in the night with stomach cramps and was then sick.

Third time I had a Quorn stew that OH had cooked, and...._pale_ _pale_ _pale_
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Typical that I've just discovered this post after I bought a packet of Quorn mince yesterday.

Should I just chuck it or feed it to the dog?! I've never had it before, but I bought it to give to my girls (5 and 3) in a spag bol.

We can only state our opinions.

If you were happy to feed your girls on it, why not still try? Just because some ( including me) don't like it for various reasons or find it doesn't suit them, doesn't mean everyone feels the same.

What I object to is the marketing of it as a wonderfood and healthier alternative. I believe it is 'an alternative' that people should have freedom of choice over. :)

  • I've eaten it on and off for years without having a problem! I bought Linda mcC sausages for the first time in ages today, and found them really very salty!

What are people's suggestions for good veggie sausages?
