Just before I sign off for the day (Mr LW is home early from work) just thought I'd pop back to wish you all a Happy, Prosperous and MSE New Year.

  • Afternoon all.

2013 nearly over. Hope you've had a good year. But if not,I hope 2014 will be better xxx

Ds1 dropped his tablet yesterday. It's going to cost loads to repair. Luckily I can get the spare part from eBay & noahspennilessmums dh will repair it. There are lovely people in the world aren't there x

I popped to Waitrose today. I got a cheap Christmas pudding. I've been craving one! Also got some cheap chocolates. I got a jumper for Himself as it's his birthday on Jan 2nd. He has some stuff to come in the post but it's nice to have something to open in the morning.

I'm glad we don't go out in NYE. Aside from the cost, it's awful weather out there.

Burgers for tea tonight. Well I will have something else as I don't like burgers.

My freezer is full to bursting so I've got a menu plan on the go & will go in the grocery challenge & have an amount (£300) from Jan1-22 (pay day). That's for 5 of us.

I'm also going to do some savings pots.

My usual Christmas one. And one for chessington as the kids want to go there in the summer.

Well a happy new year to you all.

    Stay safe & warm tonight.

Best wishes to you all & thanks for the friendship

    Love, hugs & spoons xxxx

Hi everyone...just sitting with a cuppa and having a catch up. Had a nice day out in Newcastle with eldest DD....youngest spent the day with her cousin. Didn't buy a lot, but had a nice look round....the shops were a lot quieter than we expected. Bought a new black cardie which I needed for work and some new pyjamas in Primark cos I had a bit of a health scare a couple of weeks ago and was taken to hospital....I was worried in case they kept me in as my pyjamas are really comfy in hard up sort of way - they sent me home though so that was good.
We had a really nice lunch at Pizza Express....only £3 to pay cos I had Tesco vouchers to use. Then we had time before our train home so finished off with hot chocolate in Starbucks!
Eldest DD is out tonight at her friend's house which I'm pleased about as last NYE was the first time she'd been out in the local town and I couldn't settle all night. She's 17 and a half and sensible....but it's everyone else who isn't sensible that worries me!
So youngest DD (14) and I have crispy duck and pancakes to cook, special fried rice and some Chinese nibbles we didn't need on Boxing Day and will watch TV.....probably a film and then Graham Norton later. I'll stay up till midnight cos she'll want to but I've never really been bothered about New Year's Eve.....too many of them spent working in pubs!
Then tomorrow I'm doing a roast beef lunch for my mum and dad - eaten either in our house or theirs depending on how my dad feels, but as we live next door that's no problem!
Christmas tree will come down on Thursday as the cat is slowly pulling the tinsel and baubles off it....he managed to jump up and knock the angel down last night and ran up and down the stairs with her in his mouth! Strange thing is, he didn't bother with it when the presents were underneath - it's just since there was space cleared under it.
Right, going to go and see what time youngest wants food, might just put my pyjamas on too - have a nice night everyone!
  • Wishing everyone a very happy, peaceful and healthy 2014. :)

A late visit from me today but I did want to wish you all a a happy, healthy and wealthy New Year before the stroke of midnight.

Ive had another very busy day. I took the tree down this morning and this afternoon we picked up our Grandson as we are having him overnight. He's fast asleep right now so I thought I'd pop online whilst I get the chance.

    cheeseaddict, welcome :)

    peony40 , welcome back.:)

Have a good evening all if your staying up till the New Year. Sleep well to those who don't.

  • Happy New Year to one and all.
Has been wet here today but not to chilly or windy. Had to buy a new hoover today as mine went bang. Not done to bad though have had it since 1992 and it has been patched up and repaired so many times . It does take a bit of a beating twice a day at least with two dogs in the house. Couldnt afford an expensive one and I had £45 worth of Argos vouchers from various freebie sites so I bought an upright argos value bagless one for just under £40. I am please to say it is brilliant but am also ashamed to see how much dog hair was picked up from the lounge floor. :o. So am happy with my purchase.
Popped to Tesco with ds to pick up some bits for him to take back to uni as his loan doesnt arrive in his bank account until the 6th and he is going back on the 2nd. So have spent all day making lasagne, shepherds pie, chicken and mushroom pies and apple crumbles and apple pies for his freezer. He will also take back left over hm roast pots and parsnips. some turkey slices, beef slices and sausages and bacon from the freezer, along with the milk , bread etc that I got him today should keep him going for a little while. Will miss him when he goes as it has been lovely having him home.
Have the last load in the washing machine to go on the airer tonight, then thats it house is back to normal, apart from putting the christmas tree and decorations boxes back under my bed.
NYE well nothing exciting going on here , dd is at a party ds1 is out with his cousins as its the only time they all manage to be in the same town together.Ds2 is poorly and is curled up on the sofa with scarlett . He wants to be awake to see 2014 in but he is fast asleep at the mo and I wont wake him if he is still asleep.
Me I am curled up on the other sofa with a cup of tea in one hand and some choccy biscuits , So will wish you all a lovely new year, I hope you enjoy what ever you are doing tonight and have a fantastic start to 2014

Evening everyone , regulars , old returners, newbies, lurkers alike.

Not much happening at DG towers. Watching Gary Barlow, waiting for the fireworks, reminds me why we go on a. NY Rally

Just wanted to wish you all, a very Happy, Heathy, and Prosperous MS/OS 2014. May life ring you your desires.

To those without loved ones a very special dodgy :group hug:
    Take care everyone. DG
