  • I would be the same -the chest freezer is full, kitchen cupboards are full and we've got an overspill cupboard in the back bedroom!!! We're going to try and use up stuff over the next few months - but I'm always a sucker for the RTC areas and then freezing stuff when I'm doing my shopping.
  • You can sustain yourselves very comfortably on what you list for at least a couple of months, if not longer, I should think. My list would be even longer than yours, and in fact I found myself thinking 'ooh, you need some more beef stock cubes and where's the tobasco listed...', so I'm probably the worst person to post on this thread.

I'm just relieved you have a bag *of*king* prawns because I read something totally different at first:o:rotfl:.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Oh my word !! I dare not make a list, it would probably reveal I need professional help.

That list is awesome tho! HenrysMummy, I bet mine would be very similar and that's before I get to the toiletries:eek:

Ok, personally I'm going to leave the packet stuff because its not my thing, I don 't know what to do with most of it.

Do you use it or hoard it? If you use it fine, but if you hoard it but prefer to cook from scratch I'd start chomping through it at least every second meal till you have reduced it to a small 'SOS ' supply for if you are unwell, so say, two / three meals worth.

But seafood sauce...sound like time to start having a few prawn cocktails! With the king prawns ou have in your freezer. And mayo...well, depends on lifestyle, but DH and I used to eat a LOT of crudite ( oh I miss crudite) and this is a really good starter, so I'd use some of the mayo as a base for dips for that. Otherwise if you need to make sandwich fillings my very best sandwich filling uses either a steamed chicken breast shredded ( could use lo roast chicken) or tin of tuna then mayo, a couple of spring onions and a splash of Worcester sauce....which you have.. Very easy. Mix to a sand wich filler consistency.

(Btw I have twice as many jars etc in my fridge....most of my fridge is jars of stuff)

If you do need to so lunches that's where I'd send the sausage rolls too.

Rice.....I'm doing two rice dishes this week, a biriyani and a Persian /Iranian ( old/ new money not wanting to cause offence to any one) rice side dish.

Risotto rice......I make risotto a lot......lemon risotto is my favorite store cupboard meal.....I almost always have the makings for it in the house...it can be made fresher with rocket or have brad beans or peas or whatever added to it. But at this time of year I'm all about dark risotto, squid, beet.

There is, or was, a monthly thread in health and beauty forum for feeling with toiletry stashes.

It was one of the best things I have ever done. I must have saved HUNDREDS of pounds since. I buy a mixture of high street and expensive toiletries and cosmetics and ave difficult skin because of meds, and now rosacea.....I now know that things that don't work will not magically work.:o

Seriously one of the most useful threads for women of the toiletry or cosmetic persuasion on MSE.

Ooo, lemon risotto sounds lovely! And look at that, surprisingly I have some lemons! Thanks x

(PS. I've never quoted before so if it has messed up apologies)
  • I'm in the same club (I called my personal challenge cooking from stash, because I'm a knitter with SABLE (stash beyond life expectancy) so it's a concept I'm familiar with). I'd say my food stash is at least as bad as yours, except that I have a terrifying amount of asian jars & bits & pieces, and over a kilo of frozen fruit. We don't eat puddings normally, which is why it is unused.

Would you be ok if I asked to merge the two threads as they are so similar?
