i got a small piece of beef out of the freezer and i have made a Huge pot of casserole on the slow cooker with dumplings so that should keep me going for a few days

i kept some beef back and made meat and veg pasties to take to work a change from bread / sandwishes

feels good using some of the ingredients i have in, and making tasty meals as i have a habit of not planning and eating rubbish now kids have gone back to uni

O and i made a dozen gingerbread muffins to take to work

    NSD :)

Finished the corned beef off for dinner and the beef pie for tea, so have had an extremely easy day!

I did do some washing though and sorted out my baking tins, think I'm going to give some to our daughters. I have tins I inherited from my Nan, Mum, and other people and definitely don't need them all now. I'm going to keep my pork pie tin though, as I might have a go at one of those again. I haven't made one for years.

    Hope you're all well :)

    JD those look delicious!! :)

soworried - such a bargain on the gammon and an inspiring post. I try and do the same sort of thing. Our menu is currently rather dictated by MrA beef as a result of Meg72 and her helpful December post.

  • I spent another £7.71 today. Tuna, milk and bread, but also picked up a dessert for my post weigh in treat.

£23.31 spent today between L*dl, Bargain M*dness and Tesc*. £10 of this was on fabric conditioner (80 odd washes and Persil Bio (40 washes), hopefully that should last a while.

Went in Lidl to try and find the so called fresh ginger and butter on offer, mentioned on HUKD and there was nothing in ours. Also, Tesc* didn't have a few things. I'd have probably spent about £30 if i had got everything.

Really need to meal plan, but i am lacking inspiration at the moment, especially with fussy kids and being full of a cold. The kids eat so repetitively, it's frustrating

Decided to try a WW recipe for a pasta bake with turkey mince. Utterly manky

I'll need to suffer through it for lunch tomorrow, but I won't be making it again...

£3.98 spent today. I'd run out of carrots for breakfast (I have a carrot , grapefruit, apple and ginger juice each morning) so had to pop into the shops - also bought buttermilk, strong white flour and baking powder for scones. I'm a pretty good cook, but my scones were never really successful - but they can't be worse than the half bricks offered by Asda! I've now picked up the "chuffing" technique from Paul Hollywood *swoon*:T so I'm going to have another bash! :D
