£3.43 spent on 6 large scoops of dog food from the farm shop so £146.57 left in the pot.
    G.C July £21.09/£100

  • £79 in to my budget of £340 for the month. I'm pretty sure I will go over as we have next to nothing in and I can get a massive shop next week to fill the pantry, but if I go over it will mean February is under budget, hopefully.
Even if I go over it will be better than most months as I never know how much I have spent. At least I'm keeping track now :rotfl:

Small spend of £3.78 today, milk, kitchen towel and fruit. Bit sad to break into the months spends. Am aiming for the first proper shop to be Sunday ready for the return to school - packed lunches again!

HM prawn noodle soup/vegetable noodle soup for tea tonight.

    Good luck everyone. x

First shop of the new year today, so budget for remainder of the month now at £173.56. Hardly any food purchased, except for the cat who is now catered for till month end, but dishwasher tabs, oven cleaner, nappies all required.

Thanks for the freezer tips, I was just thinking veg lasagne and then read no pasta or fish (I am pescky so don't do roasts/meat). How about rice dishes?

Off to continue reading the Aldi/Lidl thread - I'm thinking that would be one way to reduce costs - although Sainsburys is just so convenient for me ....

Well my NSD’s didn’t last very long :o – but I’ve been making so much soup lately ran out of stock cubes, garlic & onions – so nipped into sainsbobs and thought whilst I’m there have a browse in the reduced aisle. Well I couldn’t resist the box of 30 Christmas cards reduced to 0.90p (rubs hands in a miserly fashion) then whilst passing the bread section managed to get a small seed sensation loaf less than half price.

And so, I came out with 5 items instead of 3 and not a massive spend of £2.34, however for that little misdemeanour :naughty: I’m grounding myself for at least 6 NSD’s.
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £
  • Just nipped to local supermarket for milk, bread and some cheap popcorn for our cinema trip. Ended up buying more fruit and a few special offers. It came to £12, but feeling slightly guilty as I know I only needed to spend about £4.50. Still its so much better than in the past : )
Grocery challenge Setting a £20 a week food budget for myself and 6 year old son. Month of jan budget £100.

    Shopping spend since 30/12/13 £27/100.

Sealed pot challenge No. 291 ?? -will find out when open it : )

Hiya - veg lasagne freezes fine - best to do in portions. Any pasta dish the same - I do it all the time

    Hi all,

Did my first spend of the year this month at Ald!

Spent £65 but that was a trolley full of stuff, including 2 boned lamb joints and a pork joint all 30% off so that will last all month, also bought sausages and burgers for this weeks meal plan, well 9 day meal plan.

I also splurged on an Actify family was £50 off at Argoose, this will come out of a bonus I got at work though, apparently you can cook allsorts in it not just chips, so I hope it will cut down on using my huge cooker so much.

Chilli and nachoes tonight, last of my Mr L,s £1 mince.

I woke up with man-flu today, head is full of cotten wool bleughhhhhhhh

    Off to blow by dose.......

Have a fab evening all xx
