  • Thought I'd attempt a £2,500 annual budget for the 2014 GC (a £500 reduction compared with 2013's monthly targets). Let's see how it goes!!!

  • Hi everyone, and a huge thanks to all who manage the thread! Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and looking forward to 2014!

We are moving out of our rental house at the end of this month, *HOPEFULLY* into the house we are purchasing, but if we haven't completed by then we will have to put all our stuff into storage and move in with my parents for a while...

Therefore the freezer and cupboards need to be emptied, so in theory we only need to buy fresh food. We are also off to New York next week for 5 days to celebrate my 30th birthday, so I'm going to cut the budget by quite a bit this month, in the hope it spurs me on to eat everything we have!

I'm going to attempt a budget of £150 this month, for food, drinks & household products for 2 adults. We have a cupboard full of cleaning products, and were bought enough toiletries for Christmas to last about 2 years (no joke!) so hopefully we can stick to that! We also spent £158 last month, which included the frozen turkey for Xmas day and drinks, so it can be done!

DH went to Li*l today and got some fresh stuff, milk and lunch food and spent £10.96, so I will start of January with that!

I'd like to rejoin if I may please?
I started with good intentions last year and set a budget, but lost count very early on.
This year I need to claw back some overspending on a new car and replenish my savings, so will try to do much better!

BUDGET £5200 for the year please

    Hope you're better now Zippy?

Can I do £40 per week again please?
I lost the plot badly in December so really need to get back on track.

Good afternoon !!! and hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and looking forward to a sparkly new year. I totally lost the plot in december with my spends and looking back cant beleive how much I needlessly spent looking at all the food and nibbles I have left, which will no doubt go to waste.

I want to get back into my grocery challenge mode and go with £200] for January and hope I have some left at the end of the month. Thanks to all who keep boards running smoothly and a Happy new year to everyone

  • I'm going to join in again as I don't think I've done the grocery challenge since 2012. I went back to uni for a year and did quite well at not spending but now I'm working again I've gone back to the bad old Totallybored ways of buying whatever I fancy at Waitrose and M&S.

My budget for the month is £250 and this is for 2 adults plus my dad for about one week in every month.

    Hello

Thank you for the thread Zippy and hope things go OK.

I'd like to join this month for £350. Sadly I've already started January but it shouldn't be too bad from now on with a lot of using up and dieting!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • Could you please add me, £600 for the month. Going to actually aim to cut this down though!
