Spent another £13.11 today which if honest didn't really need it all. We went to pick something up from a different town for daughter and just down the road there was a large supermarket so had to pay the a visit, all things considering I think we come off lightly at just over £13

Tea tonight was fish - DH had some cod and I had plaice done in milk & butter, we had some potato fritters, watercress & tomatoes with it.

Hope the home schooling goes well. Not good when your child is unhappy at school especially when you think how much time they have to spend there. Hope things improve.

    Hi all :)

Had a couple of NSD this week, mostly due to being ill and not having the energy to even move from my bed.

I did the food shopping for my Nan Wednesday and she very kindly bought me a few bits too for going for her and i was given 2 packets of bacon from my uncle as he had loads given to him free from work.

Today i spent £5.84 on a few top up bits in CO-OP. Bread, sandwich fillers for work etc. I've had to throw away a few things from our fridge as something had gone off and turned lots of fresh food funny. So annoying as i've now had to replace these things again.

Hoping for a few NSD's now until next week. I'm sure i'll be around £40 over budget this month though :( will add up and sort out the total soon.

    Suze :)

Weekly shop No.4 of 5 completed with £19.15 spent in Ald! which is a little below the £20 budget, but over the £15 I was hoping for. Still, slightly under budget overall and 1 week left to go, so I should come within it.

Meal plan is done for the week and we've quite alot in the freezer still. :)

Another NSD. Just eating out of cupboards and freezer. Really must wind down stocks so I can see what we have.
We have a chest freezer that is still heaving.
We had HM wedges + fish + roasted beetroot, celery, red onions for dinner.

  • Another NSD today. Went to the forest with OH this morning and brought another trailer load of wood home for the winter. Our tree is looking well chopped now, only have to spend another week and it should be all chopped.
we already have enough wood to see us through the winter, but are very grateful to our neighbour for his generosity, so will keep going until the tree is completely finished.
roast beef dinner in front of the tv, very unusual, but NZ is playing India at cricket and are actually WINNING.
DH is hoping to take the boat out tomorrow and chase tuna, but the wind is starting to rise, so it may be a stay at home day instead.
Wishing everyone the best for the weekend
    Cheers

  • I haven't updated for a while. £281.39 spent so far. I am hoping to come in under budget, famous last words. I have to go until the last day of the month. There is a reasonable amount of food in so i am hoping that during the week i will just need bread and possibly more fruit.

Almost at the end of my January and standing at £221 which I am really pleased with.

I had an unexpected day off yesterday so shopped in mr t and £world and also visited the butchers. Most of my spends are for February which starts Monday but I took the opportunity when I was in the local town centre as I find it difficult to get there when I am at work all week.

We received a refund from the energy company so are using a little of it for tea out tonight which I won't count in the total and we are at my mums for lunch tomorrow so will be having a light tea. I am not expecting to have to spend any more money this week but will hold off declaring until tomorrow night.

  • Good morning, I'm going to do my last food shop of January today or tomorrow, think I can safely say January has been a disaster budget wise :( hopefully February will be better!
Will update my sig when I get back, hope everyone has a good weekend :)
