  • Yep - I always look for the best priced fruit/veg in Aldi and it's cheaper than my local market...and fresher. :)

On track with my grocery budget no new spends to add
I did pop into town to return a faulty jacket so got a refund

I'm just popping in to say I'm going to back out of posting on this forum, at least for a while. DD has been really unhappy at school, which all came to a head this week and we have made the decision to take her out of school and home educate her at least for a while.

This means that my computer time will be used up on home ed forums, and tracking down resources and I won't have time to post here.

However, I won't give up on the challenge itself. I've learnt such a lot and have cut down from around £500 a month to about 420 in 3 months without anyone in the family really noticing, and I can see the potential to cut back more if need be. Everyone's tips and recipes have been so useful and so I want to thank everyone for their inspiration - it has made a real difference to me
    May spend - £291.40/£320.00
    June spend - £106.40/£320.00

    Cheeeeeesed right off today!
Took the teeny terror out for the day, packed his lunch but not my own and DH didn't take anything for himself either. Urgh, ever feel like if you don't do it yourself then it doesn't get done?! Anyway, ended up spending £12.79 on a variety of coffee/lunch stuff over the day, which wasn't very nice and cost so much, but being in a city at that point there were no real cheap alternatives around. I don't mind a lunch treat out, but I do mind spending so much through bad preparation and it also not tasting very nice!
So £12.79 on food with an extra £1.49 on milk, as the only supermarket was M&S.
Off to sulk in a corner ;)

Hate spending money on packet sarnies etc. as you're right - they never taste nice and are soooooo expensive.

I'm also sorry to hear your news 2childmum :(
It's horrible having a child who does not enjoy their school and wish you all the best on your home educating :)

Been out with a couple of friends today to the local garden centre and had dinner and it wasn't my turn to treat today (we take it in turns) so it's nearly been a NSD! :). Called at the shop and got milk, spread and 2 butter and it came to £5.08 which I'll add to my sig.
Hubby had spag bol out of the freezer for his tea and I had a bit of chocolate cake (very naughty!)

Hope everyone's ok, looks like soup and stew weather next week for some of us as it's supposed to be getting colder.

going to nip in coop when we go to the market for fruit and veg. then go to aldi for the rest as weve got to pick something up from a shop near there and it seems silly going morrys again just for the sake of it.
