  • Hi everyone I am relatively new to this site, but so far find it really helpful and supportive. I want to take part in this challenge and have set myself a weekly budget of £20 for me and my 6 year old and therefore roughly £80-100 a month depending on the month.
Really like the sound of this and coincidentally got a bag of chillies YS @ 15p and a bag of red peppers YS @ 19p so this could be quite frugal for me.

What kind of a set are we looking at, Nikki?
I'm wondering too if I could get away with some lemon juice or some grated apple to make up for not having pectin sugar.

Annoyingly I've just recycled loads of jars. Shall have to finish up some 'bits & scraps' in the pantry. :p

Apple should work fine -but I would google for other opinions. I boiled for 20 minutes, but feel that I should have done it for longer. Next time will do 40min as although it tastes amazing it is thinner than I would want. Of course I will still use it and enjoy it : )
Grocery challenge Setting a £20 a week food budget for myself and 6 year old son. Month of jan budget £100.

    Shopping spend since 30/12/13 £27/100.

Sealed pot challenge No. 291 ?? -will find out when open it : )
