The Completely Crazy 2014 Clothes Challenge

Hi everyone,
I'm in a similar situation to Pavlovs dog - a bulging wardrobe with nothing to wear and could do with shifting a stone to make the clothes I have look and feel better.
I have never budgeted my clothes spend before, and almost dread to think what it has been over the years, but I'm up for a challenge!
I've just been given two new handbags for Xmas so won't be needing new bags, I could do with some new flat shoes as my others wore out and I will buy leather ones so they last, and I will need some new bras and possibly some holiday clothes.
I'll go for £30 a month so £360 for the year. I know that's a lot more than most of but I'm new to this game so please be gentle! :-) I'd also rather be realistic than fail at the first try!
Good luck everyone.Debt free by Xmas 2014 £7775.64/£13,228.73

I looked at this thread last night, and have been thinking about it ever since.
I'm not a complete clothing shopaholic or anything like that, but I've never kept a tight rein on clothes spending either. I genuinely don't know how much I spend on clothes last year, and I probably would be a bit shocked if I totted it all up.
I probably did spend more then normal last year. Over the last year or so I've gone up a dress size ( I think it's an age related thing !) so I had to replace some things, especially trousers, Also, we had a 24 night cruise holiday, so I had to revamp my evening wear and look at what I had to wear in the day too.
But the good news was, I sold some of my old stuff on Ebay, and bought the evening wear second hand from eBay, and I used the rest of the money I earnt towards some of the new clothes I bought in shops. I also used vouchers for some purchases
I am quite frugal in some clothing areas. I work two days a week, and keep a capsule wardrobe of a couple of pairs of black trousers and a pair of jeans, plus a few tops and blouses. These things were quite old when I started the job in 2010..... and now I'm determined to keep them going until I leave, hopefully Sept 2015.
I tend to wear the same things at home, and have worn 'home' jeans until they are completely worn out. Also, I will wear socks until they get a hole in them ( I'm not crafty, so darning is beyond me!)
But that leaves all the 'other' stuff. Casual going out wear, I'd call it But I don't go out often enough to wear it all! I think that stuff could last me for years.
So I NEED very little.
This year I want to reduce my spending in all areas, so I will carefully be recording every expenditure, including clothes,
I've thought a lot about setting a target. I didn't want to set a target so low that I feel will be impossible to achieve.
I will therefore set myself a target of £300 for the year, and I'm not confident about that!
But I'll give it a go, and hope to utilise the proceeds of eBay sales and vouchers along the way.
So, please could you add me to the list !Early retired - 18th December 2014
