You definitely couldn't apply the unlimited as SW suggests- imagine if you had unlimited SW Chips!!.

But what a beautiful world it would be if we could!! :D

I defo keep an eye on portion sizes and calories in conjunction with the rest of the diet whilst still counting syns.

Me too, I add everything into MFP because I know given half the chance i'd eat 17 bowls of pasta!

Catt - what upsetting news, big hugs for you and the family. I hope your appointment goes well. You don't need to be stressing out thinking of SW at the moment, definitely! xx

I don't watch portion sizes at such, I just make sure at least 1/3 is superfree and stop when I am absolutely full, trying to snack sensibly.

I also prioritise superfree vegetables and salad over fruit because of the sugar content...

    Hi everybody!

I read everyday and feel like I 'know' you all!

A question for those who are at target or close too....how do you set your target? Did you do it when your weight loss tailed off or a certain clothes size? BMI?

A bit about me - I started 6months ago Monday and have lost 2stone 12.5lbs todate. I'm the smallest/lightest I've ever been but I'm really really struggling keeping going and don't know what to do. I bought a size 12 jeans yesterday and they fare a snug fit, but will be happy when I fit in them?? My bmi had gone from 35 to 28 - so still not ideal/healthy?

I'm just after ideas from others

Hi tinofpeas - I set my target by wanting to be a size 10 (down from a 12/14). I have reached that and now am an 8/10 which gives me a bit of leeway.

I posted yesterday regarding the large amounts of sugar in fat free yoghourts. Although 12 people have thanked me for the post, I am a wee bit surprised nobody has commented. I was really shocked to see that they had much more sugar than ordinary yoghourts.

I can't get my head around how these can be Free or maybe just 1 syn.

As has already been said, no food is completely 'free', but some do have a low calorie value compared to either density or volume. Unless you have fat-free plain yogurt, not many are low in sugar. Milk in itself, the basis of yogurt, has naturally occurring sugar in it. The fruit in the yogurt has fructose, and any other sugar is usually added as a sweetener. By avoiding extra fat, and high carbs it does keep the calorie content low, especially when you consider the Mullerlights are 175g pots. The volume helps to make us feel fuller for longer, and realistically you shouldn't really be shovelling pot after pot down every day. I tend to have them either as a dessert, or as a breakfast alternative, alongside some fresh fruit (more sugar, but in natural form). I also use them as a better way of filling up, rather than having a biscuit, say, of similar calorie value, as it's not filling, and I may be tempted to have more than one at a time.

Our consultant at group does reiterate that whilst there is 'free' food, that is only really there to be eaten in moderation. The SW plan gives us a fighting chance of losing weight, while filling up on foods that have bulk, but less calories. We are expected to use portion control in conjunction with the plan, and learn to stop eating when we feel satisfied, not stuffed to the brim. (I struggle with that still sometimes) :rotfl:

Common-sense has to prevail though, and you have to realise you can't just eat and eat, and expect to lose weight, even if it's food from the 'free' part of the plan.
why do women have to suffer from *week? I think our creator must have hated women :(

I have to remind myself that it's only because of the blessed thing, that I have my 4 gorgeous boys. They're worth any amount of pain :heartpuls

Went into shock yesterday & had a good cry. My inability to concieve has lead to the discovery that I have a tumour on my pituitary gland (under the brain). I am seeing a surgeon next week. It's unlikely to be cancerous (only 1% of them are), but I'm still scared in case I don't get to see my DD grow up

I've taken next week off SW as it clashes with my hospital app & tbh I can't be arsed to avoid chocolate right now - it's my staple food at the moment :o I can't think about anything else until after my appointment next week.

Oh lordy Skint. Sorry to hear your bad news, what a huge shock that must have been for you. Take care of yourself for now. We're here if you need to chat, but for now, I'd say use that chocolate all you like. :grouphug:

I've had a quieter day here, and #1 son came round this evening to have a meal with us, and seems to be a bit happier, which is a relief.

Food plan has been : Extra Easy

    B - Mullerlight (just the one ;) ), apple & satsuma
    snack - kiwi fruit
L - Savoury rice, with added passata & veggies taken from dinner in the slow cooker, ketchup 1 syn. Activia Creamy Yogurt 2.5 syns
D - Slow cooked SW bolognese (with celery, onions, garlic, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, passata, extra lean mince & seasoning). Half fat Cheese 4 syns.
Supper - mullerlight with porridge HeB
    HEA - milk in tea/coffee
Syns: 2 x highlights hot choc, 4 syns
    Total syns = 11.5 syns

Hope you all have a good weekend. I'm just looking forward to having a nice lie-in, and hoping I will finally wake up without a headache tomorrow, as it's starting to get on my wick now.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Thanks all - I just expected so much that it would be fixed by a tablet! :o Strange where life leads you.

I want to lose weight & I know I can do SW, but I've got so many things in my head at the moment (including goings onat work) that I just had to drop something. And yes, I'm going out to buy more chocolate later :o Just wish I had a chocolate fountain a la Vicar of Dibley ;) :rotfl:

Thank you to all those that have posted suggestions and supportive posts - it means a lot.

I was speaking to a friend on facebook and she asked if my consultant had texted to see how I was after my mahoosive gain. I haven't heard a peep. Does anyone get personal texts from their consultant? Is this the norm?

Anyway day back on plan, I had a massive fruit salad and an Activia fat free yog, for lunch I had more salad, cooked chicken, some more yogurt and a Satsuma. For tea I had prawns and chicken with more salad and another yogurt!

I don't usually eat these many yogurts but they were buy one get one free a Tesco so I thought it would fill me up. I know that they are prob full of nasty sweetners but at the moment they are hitting the spot. And I'd rather eat these then gorge on naughty foods.

Haven't done any exercise so am not being as holy as I could be, but haven't snacked on anything I shouldn't today.

Have also had 2 litres of water so will try and keep this up for the week.

Thanks again for all your words of encouragement, means a lot.
