Hi everyone,
How's your festive period going?
I managed to do all my xmas shopping in Primark £35!
I really want to go out on NYE in London Bridge, but I really don't have any money - next pay is 3rd Jan
What's everyone else doing?
How much debt do you have to clear. Mine totals just under £12K.

Me and DH have £44, 000 between us. It's a hell of a lot but this time last year (our LBM) our debt stood at £60, 000. Our biggest achievement is paying £15K back and not adding anymore to it (with exception of balance transfer fees for 0% deals).
We will be staying in this year for the second year in a row. I love New Year but it's going to be a quiet night in with a bottle of wine and a takeaway!

We always stay in, just our mortgage which has £4K outstanding, although we wont be able to say the same next year as my wife is now uninsurable, so we'll be paying cost for her medical treatment instead of her co-pay

I'm definitely staying in. Billy no mates here with none to go out with. Sigh. I divorced my ex in July and I'm happier for it but this time of year has me missing the things we used to do and I have to admit I'm lonely

I'm staying in. I live in a quiet boring town, I've got revision and I've got work on NYD!
This though will be the last year I still in up to my eye balls in debt, revising and with no plans! Next year my new year will be Big!
I WILL GET THERE.0 -
:cool:Staying in......watching TV...and having some wine and chocs.....feeling too old to go out...I prefer a cosy night in nowadays.:D0

I think I cleared around £3,000 debt this year but still have a long way to go.
Sorry Missu to hear you're feeling a bit lonely! I am single too, and I admit half my debt was racked up with mindless shopping sprees..
NYE seems a bit overrated, if you stay in you feel the rest of the world is partying except you.
Ever feel you have a lot less friends than you thought, it becomes more apparent for me during the tough times.. Only the good ones stick around
I used this site before to get through my debt, sure I can do it. I am on the lowest income ever and only a temp. Hope I can increase my income asap.
Makeachange oh dear working NYD! Saying that, I've only had 1 day off this festive period so I know the feeling!
Anticipating all the debt repayments etc that are coming out in Jan and so I think I won't be going out either.Achievements:

I've hurt my back so it's hard enough to go out anyway (it's on the mend) but I haven't been out for the last few NYE's now and I'm glad of it

I know that sounds bad but do I really want to go into town when pubs which are normally cheap and cheerful start charging £30 to get in but offer three free beers? Hmmm... Maybe not!
Plus the atmosphere has changed a lot in the last five years or so, it's not as pleasant but that could just be me getting old
My debts are in the way down though which is good -fifteen and a half grand and counting wahoo!!!
Happy new years all
