Considering the name of the landlord posting is called True Pat ( sounds a little like Ex Pat ) and there location is down as ''Better than the UK' Then I find this little rally of who knows more a little petty.

    They also say the following.

''33, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good''

Most likely they own a Bar in Spain or somewhere and the legislation doesn't even apply !

Oh I noticed that, but we weren't discussing whether it applies to truepat, we were discussing whether posting said videos online amounts to a breach of DPA.

And while the DPA doesn't apply elsewhere in Europe...each country will have their own version of it since it was an EU directive which is binding on member states.

Kind of depends on what's been said and what, if any, impact it has on his livelihood.

A defamation action is extremely expensive indeed. Tens of thousands of pounds, potentially. And what is he likely to recover by way of damages from the average man on the street? Little or nothing at all, in reality.

Ah so the childishness has evolved into ill informed rubbish being posted by you - tut, tut, why is it that ignorant people simply make things up before asking the obvious question?

I own 3 bars in the UK I also have interests in a couple of other bars in the UK and several abroad. I run them as a hobby (they are not a core part of my main businesses).

My name originally came from the fact that when I joined this board I was a die hard English flag waving patriot of the UK - but then I got involved in oversea businesses and learned a lot about other cultures. I realized that the UKs global reputation of being one of the most nannied states with some of the most pampered ungrateful whiny people is well earned. I am still a Brit by birth but am embarrassed by the attitude and behavior of many from the UK - it does however still retain many good points.

Very true, which is why it is easier to embarrass the carp out of them. I make no apologies for proving people to be liars.

It is just a shame that some people are so blinkered, myopic and ill informed about reality that they are incapable of seeing beyond the end of their last 5 minutes of googling.

Awe look the child is back to be made look an even bigger fool.

I have my own IT department so know your infantile threats about IP addresses are as empty as your head.

I also have my own legal department that I trust far more than ill informed google amateurs like yourself. You really are pathetic.
