Why don't you ask them to be sure rather than some random people on the internet who more than likely have nothing to do with those institutions?

are you sure they allow people who go to college if they can't spell C-O-L-L-E-G-E?

Just phone up the uni/college and they'll explain it for you?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

University of Kent and Mid-Kent college share a site at Chatham Maritime (Medway, Chatham Dockyards campus). They have very strong links and share services (often things like student support etc) as well as some courses. The foundation degree should be awarded by the University of Kent anyway regardless - as are most foundations degree programs offered by the college (apart from education - which tends to be validated by Canterbury Christchurch).

You should give them a ring and ask - they are really lovely people and they will understand your confusion - there are 3 or 4 different HE/FE institutions on that site :) Best of luck with your course OP! cel x

I personally would contact both the college and the university, explain the situation and I am sure they will be able to answer any questions you have, including where you are to go on your first day..

I see no need for the comment below; education should be open to all - not just those who can spell or string together a grammatically correct sentance.

And it is exactly that attitude that has opened up 3rd rate institutions that masquerade as Universities and dish out worthless degrees - these degrees which everybody now have devalue proper degrees.

I agree that education should be open to all, but only to a point.

Though I might not phrase it in the same way as BlackSheep, I do feel that basic grammar and spelling should be an essential attribute of any student in higher education.

Also, had the OP spelt college incorrectly once, it could be forgiven as a typing error. But four times?!!

"college" isn't even classified as a difficult word to spell, and unless you're dyslexic, then you shouldn't be going to university if you haven't got a good grasp of the english language!!

Also, if someone's not capable of getting 3 Cs at A Level, they shouldn't be going to university!! It has completely devaluated having a degree!!

Saying that, I've noticed that most genuine graduate employees (i.e. real graduate jobs rather than taking any old job, adding some hot air to the job title, then requesting a graduate to fill the position) now require that all candidates have a good degree AND the equivalent of 3 Cs at A Level or better! (they're not allowed to discriminate against which university an applicant went to!).

They really ought to bring back the apprenticeship route

Of course they discriminate against which University they went to. If someone is going to interview 4 people and they get 6 applications 4 of which are from the likes of oxbridge, durham etc and 2 are from (won't name real 'Universities') the university of west countryside - who do you think will get the interview (assuming same degree classification).

University of Kent's main campus is in Canterbury.

They also have a campus in Chatham but share this with Mid kent college, Canterbury Christ Church, Uni of Greenwich which is where you must have visited.

It wouldn't suprise me if it is exactly the same course supplied by both UKC and Mid Kent College, but I assume as you signed up with the college that all the admin is done under their name. I think you need to ring up and check.

01634 402020 for MidKent College Info

I would also check if you are doing a year in industry. The link you posted is for:

Information Technology foundation (G405:M) which is a 2 year foundation degree (Not as good as a Honours Degree which is your normal 3 year uni route) but can lead into a full honours degree.

I dont see any mention of a year in industry with that course (although 25% is work related).
