    Hey all,

Have any of you visited Butlins through the Sun offer before please? I have been twice and am going again this year but we always go half board. I just wondered what room you get if you don't click half board. Is it just a standard room or do you get self catering facilities? My brother in law is looking to come with us if there is availability but it depends on whether they get self catering or not.

    Thanks everyone

    Gina

we do butlins on the sun offers -but have only every chosen self catering not half board but sometimes the option to click for half board comes up and sometimes it does not.

If you choose self catering you get a standard apartment not a room.

Hoping for a good holiday again this year. I think my boys and I are heading off for our 12th Sun Holiday this year. We've always picked Haven camps as we like the Funworks and, well, if it's not broke, don't fix it. I reckon we've been to...

    Devon Cliffs - 5 times

Burnham, Doniford Bay (Watchet), Littlesea (Weymouth), Perran Sands (Cornwall), Riviere Sands (Cornwall), Rockley Park (Poole).

For those heading down to the South West, I can highly recommend the Haven at Devon Cliffs. The flagship park, everything is within reach of the complex and the pool is the best we've visited.

Of the rest, well I was a bit disappointed with Riviere Sands though Perran was quite good. Blooming windy when we went this October, phew. Rockley Park is another good one, Littlesea is okay and our view of Burnham was biased as the weather was awful that year.

This October, we are hoping to go to Church Farm, Sussex or either of the Tenby Havens. Has anyone been to either of these and can give us a heads up on them? Failing that, what about any of the other South and South West places?

    Thanks Art. :)

They only want to go self catering but the page states that you only get room so i was worried if they didn't click half board then they would only get a room and not an apartment.

    :)

We love the half board facility just because it means I've prepaid my food :). Get fed up of cooking at home, let alone on holiday :)

But I love the space you get in the apartment :)

Anyone going to keep a running thread on the codes? Fed up of writing them down on a piece of paper and then losing it. I'm not sure how to add to the same post!! Willing to learn how though. Generally in previous threads the codes have been added to first post. Hint hint.

    There's a thread here :)https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4857553

    The travel makes it expensive

European parks don't have duvets , just blankets. You can hire sheets and pillow cases but we bring our own and duvets / sleeping bags

You also have local tax to pay in some places , around 20 euros or so

yes available in June and July

    Good luck

Thanks, I have a rough idea if travel cost, but we are planning this holiday anyway, so if I can get the accommodation cheaper through the sun promotion then it will compensate the cost of travelling! Do u know if 7 night breaks are available in June/July or are they only earlier/later in the year? If not, we can hope fully book two or three consecutive holidays that run on from each other, even if it means changing parks

Me and my boyfriend are looking to do this again this year.
We went away last April and stayed at Haven Perran Sands, which was great! :D

If we get our first choice this year, which is another Haven, it will cost about £45 each for a Mon-Fri break. That price includes service and entertainment. I think it's great value for money. :) It makes it a little more expensive when there is less than 4 people because it means our initial cost is £19 each, but I still think it's worth it.
The cheapest I found on their website for the same park and dates was £174, so it would cost us almost double if we booked directly.

I have looked at the holidays abroad that the sun offer but neither of us can drive and I'm always worried about getting around once you're there. ><

We go for where sites are so can't comment on 'entertainment, etc' but we like Parkdean Challaborough for where it is and the area and Parkdean West Bay for similar. Both are right on the coast which we like. :) There doesn't seem to be any Charmouth sites this year but we like those for the fossilling.
  • I just booked a haven one with. breakfreeholidays

Right i am totally confused , do i need to buy the sun everyday for ten days to get the codes to apply on line or is there someother way of doing it ? and as i live in n ireland and there is only ONE park to choose from do i have to have more choices as dont want to go over the water and pay for ferry sort of defeats the object of a cheap holiday !
A list of the codes will be on here and added to each day.
