Managed to get back today to pay the money in, just need to ring up and pay off loan tomorrow.

have also paid the little ones party, bought her present and wrapping paper. Will get oh to get cards and birthday cake. Would also like to get her some pjs and slippers if I can squeeze the money next week. Next week I have to pay for some concert tickets and then I'm on a free run, no more big birthdays for a long time. Also I don't socialize much so as all my groups of friends have gotten together recently, I should any more for a few months. I do have ladies darts each week but that's only £3 a week.

I need to redo my budget slightly and allow for some holiday clothes, something we will need to get this year as younger two have outgrown, mine and oh are about 4 years old now and the teen could do with some dresses and shorts. Think I will start a tips pot as I'm going back to work, this may offset it a little. Have picked a couple of bits in the sale today so that's a start. Will need to write a list of what we're need instead off compulsive buying and getting what we want. D/d off £18 went out for cc today so that's another little payment gone off that one. £100 paid off holiday too.

I'm off to start budget for February now x

Stick with it JoJo - I have seen the light this year with saving - I have a £5300 debt all on 0% so not as bad as it could be and a fairly secure job. But from now on I do not count on anything as who knows what tomorrow could bring. Started saving big time as well as getting the debt down - it is a great feeling and I feel a lot happier now than 3 years ago when I had a debt of over £13k - it has been a long haul but you just have to be focussed and not take your eye off the ball.

I nearly fell into the trap of wanting good quality items for my house this year but thought better of it - it was want rather than need. So holding fire now until all is paid off and I have a nice emergency fund to fall back on.I am going for the paying off debt, emergency fund for a rainy day and 6 months worth of earnings scenario. When I reach those targets I can relax but it will take a long time. Something to aim for and work on though.

    Cheers partridge :-)

I've been struggling a little with the spending demons haha really need a holiday, but forcing myself to be patient and wait for the one in August. This will be the first holiday I've paid for in cash and not put on the c/c and forgotten about lol x I'm determined to get everything paid off before this years holiday, then I can start saving for the future x

  • Well done JOJO you are doing outstandingly well. For free fun have you tried your local children's centre, they might have something on. Also your local council website might have details of free stuff, e.g. mine has just had a Chinese New Year free event. Keep up the good work.

Loan is down too £1090, not a big progress recently but still going down. Another £100 off the holiday and a small min payment off £18 off credit card. Have £100 to pay in bank to go off loan tomorrow. Had a couple off tough weeks recently, babysitters got ill and couldn't work a few days so not has much income. Just tighten the strings a lot and pulled through still determined too get through and pay a little off debt, didn't want to stop and not pay nothing though. It's funny how things just keep popping up or things out off your control happen. I am on quite a low income but once I'm debt free I will feel like a billionaire haha. Keep wishing the tax man has realised he's owes me hundreds of pounds haha one can dream.

Rolled myself into a free community leadership course, enjoying the time and putting a free activity day on for children as a beginning step. It's a little break from my hectic life even if it's adding another thing on my to do list!

Have looked into free activities for children, but none off the times suit. Toddler sessions are all on while 4year old is in nursery and baby actives are on while doing the school run. Looks like I'll have to stick to the library for now :-)

Kind off hit a brick wall recently, not much progress at all. Some small updates on totals so will update tomorrow hopefully.

During my pregnancy I was diagnosed with diabetes. This has failed to go away and in the last two weeks has been at very servere levels. Been unable to think straight or look after myself properly, all efforts have gone on children. But finally got myself to doctors today to try and get it under control. Been looking at stuff last couple off days I can cook myself rather than buy higher priced diabete products.

With my diabetes I've lost a considerably amount off weight, now in size 6, all my clothes were falling off me, so have spent a fair amount off cash on new clothes (mainly for work) I have gone for dresses so they will still fit if I go up or down a dress size as jeans just don't seam to fit at all.

Having a lot off relationship problems, but pulling through. Not been much help with illness, baby, work, general house chores etc hopefully things will continue to improve.

Baby also stayed in last size off clothing for 2 weeks and now needs another lot of clothing before I've manage to build up a stock.

I think it's hard to budget, scrim and save when everything seams to be falling apart. However, time to dust off the shoulders and gain control again.

It looks like I will have to reduce my weekly debt repayments to £50 a week, a lot more manageable for at the moment. At least that will still bring down my loan, rather than coming to a stop as i recently have.

    So the journey continues...again....

    Been a good day today.

Been doctors and sugar levels have lowered considerably, booked in to see specialist tomorrow, must enquire about exemption certificate. Booked in for dentist tomorrow as well, so need to dig paperwork so I don't get charged!

Sorted out my wages and divided ready to pay off the holiday, bills and debt. Leaving me with £40 for me and baby clothes, will end up spending all on the baby as she only has the 3 outfits with her sudden growth sprut.

O/h treated me to lunch out today, it was really nice. I left the tip though £10. Not very mse however it was well deserved. Next time I'll make sure I only take a fiver haha

Sister payed me for some books today so popped that straight into a sealed pot. Hoping to have a little cash in there for holiday clothes when the time comes.

    Xxx

Some small payments have been made now off loan and c/c, will bomb into town to pay off another £50 off the holiday, beginning to get excited now and really looking forward to it. It's been a long road paying a bit each, but it's all paid for upfront no c/c, first time ever!! It's good to know it can be done, much easier paying each week than trying to pay c/c afterwards - never happens!

Had a good msn day. Free food, free cake, some tips for my jar and no spends all round.

Redecorated the kitchen this weekend, done very cheaply and grabs as many freebies as possibly! It's lovely sitting in here now, finally beginning to feel like a home. Need a few bits but that will have to wait til I find what I want in the charity shops!

Getting a little better with dietbetics medicine, slowly getting into a routine and beginning to feel a little less tired and grumpy, only a little though :-)

Booked a dentist appointment, finally making use off free dental after the babies, some filling and that on Thursday.

Started making oh but ties for work everyday, he's saving a fortune as he did spend way too much.

    All moving along nicely xx

    Another good day :-)

Paid off another £50 off holiday, £50 paid into bank for bills and £20 put into savers account to go towards next loan payment. Forgot to take my bagged pennies though, may be able to do this tomorrow as I'm at the dentist and getting a lift into down.

Used buses today and no taxi so quite happy I didn't take the easy option.

Spent about £10 to top up food etc and o/h lunches.

Took my daughter the park, some free Funtime. Planning trip for Saturday if it's nice, but o/h will cover costs if I make a picnic it won't punch to hard in the pockets. I have swapped my sat day shift for a night one (I have to lock up anyways) but at least we get some family time, so I'll have to look at free places and things to do for our Saturdays.

Just found a good app to use as my spending diary, this will help me reduce the pennies. From today I'm going to make sure I fill up water bottle up when I go out, I get thirsty all the time and always end up buying a drink when out. I've got £9.97 left till Friday, I wonder how much I can keep if I stop the little bits here and there x
