    Cheers foxgloves.

I need a new bathroom too! Only problem is I live above pub as part of wages, so the question is whether to buy or not. However it is a desperate state (scared bath going to fall through haha) I think it's something we will have to do but very basically, my o/h is self employed builder so no fitting costs and should be able to get best price.

Ooooh, you're lucky having a self-employed builder knocking around! We've been through a mental list of everyone we know, & come to the conclusion we don't know anyone capable of putting in a bathroom, so no choice but to go to 'Homebase' or similar. Never mind, it's got to be done. Have had a chat with partner today & explained how hard we'll have to save to get the money put aside & he was well up for it. Says he fancies the challenge & it'll be worth it to get rid of our increasingly bogging bathroom, lol!

It's good to have a goal to head towards :-) and it's so much more rewarding when you get there. I do think you appreciate it more as we'll. I remember my father in law telling me about when they first bought there house, they had very little money, their first project was the bathroom and every week they bought a pack of four tiles and put them up each week. I couldn't imagine doing that now.

Direct debit gone out on loan today, so that's at least another £30 knocked off today (depending on interest) it's crazy to think I paid more off my loan in the last month, than in a whole year with my agreed payments!

Forgot all about a birthday party I had to go today, so had no money budgeted. Had a game which was meant to go to school raffle (little one was off school so didn't get to send in) which I wrapped in princess Christmas wrapping paper! Used a card from stop. Best of all in was in a village hall, so tea and coffee was put on for adults. Didn't have to spend a penny :-)

However I've got 3 more birthday parties coming up, my own daughters party, 2 social events and tickets to pay for (old school friends reliving their youth) obviously anything I spend comes out off money I have to pay off loan. So I'm going to go through everything and plan everything out. Don't want to spend anymore than I have too. I never do this so this will be first. I don't think I'll be able to pay anything off loan this week, but with carefull planning can pull back the money over a month period. So I'm off to see what I can do with my pennies and how best do this x

Started back at work this week, so hopefully that will help with debt busting. Not due back for a while but if you want the pennies......

I bagged up some pennies the other week and couldn't remember where I put them, found them today in a box with notepad and pen and budgets. Don't remember doing that! No good being organised if you don't remember about it haha

Should be able to make a payment on Monday, to get me back on track! Just need to get the next couple of weeks out the way, then I clear for a long time off any goings on.

Played ladies darts tonight, been a while since I've gone. Paid up my subs for a month and only spent £2.50 apart from that so not a bad night really. Just needed to get out the house for a little while

    Xx

  • That's so good. Once you make it to the bank, you'll have cleared more than a quarter off your starting balance while keeping the other bits and pieces ticking over :)

Managed to get back today to pay the money in, just need to ring up and pay off loan tomorrow.

have also paid the little ones party, bought her present and wrapping paper. Will get oh to get cards and birthday cake. Would also like to get her some pjs and slippers if I can squeeze the money next week. Next week I have to pay for some concert tickets and then I'm on a free run, no more big birthdays for a long time. Also I don't socialize much so as all my groups of friends have gotten together recently, I should any more for a few months. I do have ladies darts each week but that's only £3 a week.

I need to redo my budget slightly and allow for some holiday clothes, something we will need to get this year as younger two have outgrown, mine and oh are about 4 years old now and the teen could do with some dresses and shorts. Think I will start a tips pot as I'm going back to work, this may offset it a little. Have picked a couple of bits in the sale today so that's a start. Will need to write a list of what we're need instead off compulsive buying and getting what we want. D/d off £18 went out for cc today so that's another little payment gone off that one. £100 paid off holiday too.

I'm off to start budget for February now x
