No, it isn't just one Market Place seller, its quite a few actually. I'll avoid Amazon now as a whole and just shop online at other retailers. Amazon are not doing enough to keep the place safe. They think its fine that market place sellers can keep hold of the money and not reply back to emails etc. I asked the seller if it was dispatched, received an email a few days later saying it has. But when I ask for tracking information I get no response whatsoever. Then I have to begin complaining. Needless to say I really don't have to do this when I can simply buy the item elsewhere and receive it properly.
In that case you should probably avoid ebay and play.com. You know, Tesco has some third party sellers on their site too so avoid them. There's a game site with third party sellers too but I can't think which and I'm sure there's other sites too.
A lot of sellers send items standard post, especially for games. So obviously they wouldn't have had a tracking number to give.
Still, in the end you got a refund which is the main point.@Flyonthewall I had to complain and email many times in order to get a refund....I had no money to get the games from elsewhere as I couldn't find them and I never had the money. This was the main problem, they're just simply holding on to the money for a month or so for basically free. Free one month loan for them it appears. Amazon really don't care. I have complained to them as well, they just simply go off topic.
You couldn't find them? What games were they?
If you're that short on money that you couldn't afford to buy the games again perhaps you should have looked into getting cheaper presents in the first place or just offered to take your friends out for a pint or burger or something at some point to make up for lack of gifts. If your friends don't understand that you can't afford it then sorry but they're not very good friends.@barmonkey Sorry, not over reacting, just don't want the same thing happening to others. Would you like it if I held on to your cash for a month and gave you nothing ??? And only refund you once you started to moan and complain like I had to ???
If not having two games ruined your Christmas then it's an over reaction. I love gaming but it wouldn't have ruined my Christmas. There's more to Christmas than that.
No one would like that but it's not the end of the world.0 -

Seriously? So it's ok for online shops to mess buyers around for a month as long as they give them a refund at the end?
I don't think this is a fair statement. The same thing happened to me with a new seller on eBay, and I wasn't just thankful I got a refund after several emails to the seller and opening a case with paypal.0 -

I never said that. I just meant that they did get a refund, it's not like the company still have the money. Plus it doesn't sound like they had to go through Amazon to get it.
So the main point is that they got a refund. Sure, it wasn't a good experience but at least it's over now. It's no reason to avoid the whole of the Amazon marketplace.0 -

OK just received an email from Amazon A-to-z Guarantee. It is them who have refunded me. So, does Amazon take the money from the seller and refund me ? Or is it Amazon's own money ? First time I'm doing this, so don't know where I'm getting my money back from.
Edit: It also states on the email that it will take several business days for the refund to appear ? LOL !0 -

I know with Amazon as a basic seller that they only pay out on one day a month rather than you having the money instantly in your bank account, although I'm not sure if it's the same for pro-sellers.
They should have taken the money back from the seller either way.
Not sure why you seem so amused at the several business days for a refund, it's a common thing to state. Usually it goes through much faster, they're just covering themselves for if it doesn't.0 -

As for refunds, Amazon refund themselves and deduct it from the seller's account. If that leaves a negative balance they will apply for funds from the bank account or credit card the seller has registered with them..0
