Sounds more like the DVLA doing using an ANPR camera for vehicle tax checks. They just set the camera up and let it read plates fora few hours.0

No, of course not, but if it was a speed camera then they obviously did it knowing it would be a lucrative period.
Whether or not you agree will depend on your opinion of speed cameras and the data used to defend their existence.
My opinion is pretty low, hence my comment.
What's the point in putting a speed camera where nobody speeds?
Lose the chip and obey the rules and you won't have a problem.0 -

Erm, I wasn't speeding and my car is legal.
I was just trying to identify what it was as nobody we've spoken to knows and I thought someone on here might.
Hope that's ok with you?

If you were that concerned you should have taken a photo or asked them. Its either a speed camera or anpr but we'll never know for sure.0 -

I wish I had but we'd have needed to turn around and I thought my husband would know - he was in another car.
Once I described it, he was curious too as he somehow managed to completely miss it and it's been bugging us ever since.
We said earlier we might take a drive and see if we can spot it again and ask them.0 -
The gestapo would be on you like a ton of bricks if you took photos.0
