Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2014!

I'm not going to declare for this year as we're not done splurging yet.
We've paid for our flights, but still have hotels to go, and spends.
2015 plan is that we will pay mins until we go to Australia in August, then we'll get home, get Christmas paid for, then chuck everything at the debt. I'm hoping we'll be done by December 2016!
(We weren't originally planning this Oz trip until we were debtfree, but family issues meant we needed to bring it forward. And it's going to be amazing, so worth the extra year until our dfd.)Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -
Thanks for the encouragement much appreciated.:j
Minicooper - grateful if you could put my interim target as £1,600 to the end of 2014 please. Many thanksBlitz that mortgage

Oh My.....I've done it......
I had a brief LBM and realised that I had a bit of money in savings at about 1.5% but I had a small outstanding balance at about 34% (or something ridiculous like that!), so I used my common sense and have paid two bills off!! I have gone over target because I didn't calculate the interest rates at the beginning of the year. Anyhow, my total now stands at:
Paid £7,747.60/£7,365 = 105.18%
Super, super pleased. Going to keep chipping away at another debt for the remainder of this year and will sign up again next year with a new target.
Good luck everyone else.... :-)A vision without a plan is just a dream.0 -

Trying very hard to be good here.
I've had a few near misses involving impulse purchasing, but my inner MSE has won the battle on all occasions! :money:I'm feeling much better than I imagine I would have done if I'd caved in, so hopefully my brain will learn.
I've also decided to try and swap the car for something a bit more in-line with my debt free goals. I've been shopping around but the trade in values for my current car have been a bit insulting so far... probably because it's a convertible in winter! I have to be careful not to focus too much on the monthly costs, and more on the actual cost of ownership, otherwise I could end up shooting myself in the foot. I'm trying to be smart :A
Well done everybody, keep those payments coming!0 -

Sold the stupid car! WOOP! :money:
I've agreed a cheap lease deal on a Fiesta which is going to save me £360 per month compared to the current lunacy. I should save an extra £100 per month in fuel too, approx £25 per month in insurance, and around £10 per month in road tax. Not to mention cheaper tyres and servicing...
