£12 left until payday on Friday. Didn't think I'd have any spare at all so at least I can afford some food tomorrow.

Yoo Hoo It's only me:hello: Sorry I haven't been around for a while things have been happening, anyway I just wanted to declare my figures.

    #186 paid off £2363.29 / £2501.27

So I think that means I've paid off 94% of my original total. :j

Next pay day I should be able to clear it.

I had a share option mature in August which doubled my money, I've spent the last 2 months trying to decide whether to use it to pay off the credit card or keep it in the saving account for my bathroom refurbishment. Well the credit card had sneaked back up to nearly £2500 again, so I paid off most of it and then held my breath. What's going to happen to the bathroom, last night I had the builder arrive with a quote and fortunately I still have enough to cover it :T I do still need to buy the fixtures which he estimates will be £1500, but since I'm now saving £800 per month that won't be a problem. And he can start in 3 weeks :D

    Hi all,

Managed to pay a huge chunk off my debts, thanks to a policy maturing. I had consciously planned on using this for debt repayment a while ago, so within minutes of it landing in the bank today was on its merry way to debtbustingdom.

    Paid £6,212.19/£7,365 = 84.35% = £1,152.81 to go

    Super pleased :-)

Only two months left of the year, but as hinted at above I'd like to join the challenge! I've got no hope of being debt free by the end of 2014, but 2015 is a slightly more achievable date (albeit unlikely!).

    My debts are...

    First Direct loan @ 4.1% - £13,854.70
    Moneyway @ 0% - £143.80
    Student loan @ 1.5% - £8,013.08

    TOTAL - £21,511.58

Now, I know a lot of people don't include their student loan in these things but I see it as a normal debt, and it's taking £331 directly out of my pay every month so it feels very real! The Moneyway loan will be paid next month.

One thing I'm not including is my car, although the sooner I can rid the better. It's costing me £560 pcm, and I'm not allowed to get rid until June next year. I didn't get here through sound financial decisions... :(

Ideally, by next Xmas I'll be as far below £10k debt as I can, ideally £5k.

Congrats to everyone for coming as far along this road as you have already!

You are very welcome to join this challenge even though there is only 2months left of the year. A lot of people on here have rolled over from last year or the year before. It is basically a thread that helps us to pay off as much as we can.

You could say that in the remaining part of 2014 you would like to pay off £500 That then becomes your target for this year or you can declare the whole lot and just roll it over next year.

    Welcome to the thread xx
