My car insurance is due for renewal on 16th so I should have an extra £20 per month to throw at debts. Also the two council tax free months coming up so some more to look forward to paying off. I just wish I could pay some off now.

    Your all doing fab.
WOW I forgot all about this too! Which months is it again?? Hopefully it won't go up for the new tax year!

we've started saving all our £2 coins in a sealed tin, not sure what we're saving them for but hey, it'll be a nice pot to have :D

Me too! I actually started back in November as a friend said about it. I have already got roughly £60 in there!:T

Thank you for the number Minicooper. Can you please put be debt for this year as £8871.51.

This is actually more than last year as I have added debts which I didn't show last time. I know I won't clear all but would like to think I can get this below £5K.

    Good Luck Everyone.

  • TGIF!! Even though it's been a short one this week I am so glad it's over!! Went into Leeds to meet DH for lunch and pick up some stuff I'd ordered from Debenhams in the sale and it was bloody heaving!! Was clearly wrong when I thought most people would be back at work  Managed to stay out of all the shops though even though they all had MASSIVE sale banners in the windows!

Was nice getting back and opening my parcel of goodies anyway-I treated myself to some Philosophy bath goodies as they were half price in the sale and they smell DIVINE!! Going out to the ballet tonight and for tea before that-would really like to only spend the money I've got in my purse which should be doable (especially as it's 2 for 1 cocktails where we're going hehehe :A)

So anyway welcome to all the newbies and well done to all those making payments already! Even if you've not managed to pay anything off yet think of it this way-it's only the third day of the YEAR and you're already thinking about getting rid of your debt rather than increase it-there's still so much time left to go! :T

Finally worked out totals and realised not going to be able to clear everything this year unfortunately but will definitely clear car loan of £1500 and £10,437.84 off main mortgage including a regular over payment of £500 per month. Have been doing this now since August and had expected to see a bigger dent in mortgage totals, does anybody know how can check to see how quickly mortgage could be paid by?

Rounding my target up then is £11,937.84 but I am going to set myself the extra challenge of £15,000 by Christmas 2014

When checked online banking today Januarys mortgage payment has gone out so that's £869.82/£15,000
    DF by Christmas 2014 #78 £18,964.15/£15,000
    DF by Christmas 2015 #07 £16,500/£21,992.92
    DF by Christmas 2016 #42 £4570/£4,500
CC and loan debt at it's worst April 07 - £54,489 plus
27/01/14 Officially Debt Free - except mortgage which I'm working on!
    26/02/16 mortgage free

    :D

February and March for me. I think it's the same for most people. :D

DH and I emptied all the money pots last night and I took them to the bank earlier meaning £167.43 got paid off the window loan. That brings my total so far to

    #87 £317.43/£9,827.73

Let's see if I can work that out as a percentage??....3.23% I think
    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200
    Overpayments £0/£200
