I'm the same, but the month will soon be over, and we will have extra tax allowance to help us!marliepanda wrote: »Is it just me or is April dragging for anyone else? It seems to be going on forever! Maybe because I'm not making payments due to car insurance...
Currently staying at the boyfriendshad a bit of a chat about what he wants to do in the future and he is very much on board with the cottage idea so hopefully will have two savings pots on the go when he finishes uni. He seems excited and that's exciting for me!
Me too! I think it's an April thing, in Jan we have no money, in Feb we're paying off Jan, March is the first month we have money, and then in April we get a little too used to having money and spend it too quickly! We'll be better come May...
Very exciting about the cottage! You'll have loads more motivation to get debt free now!0 -
....and as a single mother to two kids....April is very expensive - 2 weeks of half term holiday where I have to pay for holiday clubs and this year 5 birthday party invites which means buying presents, including my daughter's. I am proud to have organised a party and bought her a bike which was all budgeted for....and still have enough to overpay on debt this month. I'll be glado see May.Dave Ramsey Fan[/COLOR]0

Well I had a big spend today, bought a load of toys to put away for DC for Christmas. Neighbour also did the same and between us we spent over £300 but saved nearly £600
I took the money out of my credit union account though so no debt added toI save throughout the year for Santa in my credit Union and didn't spend it all last year, so was totally worth buying what we did today.
Some of the items were bought for Birthdays too though, so the money I have saved in a tin for presents will be put back into the credit UnionPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -

irishrose well done on the savings! I try something similar to help pay for Christmas and birthdays too, it always feels nice to have the buffer. Next year I must remember not to spend it all on Christmas though!0 -

hi there .
I havn't been around all week as had a lot going on here.
my car was going in the garage on thurs so I knew I had to keep any money I had to pay for this.as it is it's not finished yet.i know the bill will come to around £300 though:(
I came within 82p of paying off one of my cc this week, but I have since had to use it afew times.annoying when I have cash sitting here but I must save this for the car.
I have managed to scrape together a little overpayment though of £10.hope to bee back on track next week:)
