  • Well I survived the month!:j
Money in the current account again today so I am going to transfer over the "surplus" left from Feb and then when ny wages go in pay off some more of my cc. I know not every month will be as good as I had my bike money but it is a good start. Also there has been no council tax this month:)
I opened 3 mini accounts yesterday to help with saving. Really easy to do on line so now I have one for Xmas (money from SPC) one for overpayments for cc, and then one that is for hopeful savings! I'm trying the piggy bank system......

Personally I think you're mental to turn down free money from your employer. Then again, I have the luxury of being in a scheme that costs me 5% of my salary, yet my employer contributes 13%.

that's really good,, but ours only contribute 1%. :p i'll see how much comes out on payday and if it doesn't look like i'll miss it then i'll carry on paying in.

  • Hi everyone, I've been reading this thread for the last couple of months and so I thought I'd finally say hi!

Can I join the challenge please? I started the year with £9441 of debt, this included a loan from mum and dad (£1542), plus 5 credit cards and a personal loan (total for these: £7899).

I've now managed to pay off £1292 of this, and pay off 2 credit cards in full, getting the grand total down to £8149. Pay day tomorrow so the total will reduce by another chunk then :j

Good luck to all the other debt-busters, I've enjoyed reading all your updates :)
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

Payday is finally here, yessss !!

£158.52 off the barclaycard debt. £60 in to my car slush fund for car tax in April (I so wish I could use this money for debt payment) and will make another £150 payment when Tesco credit card statement rolls in in the next few days.

New total in my signature :)

I use savings accounts for piggybanking. I've got a regular saver set up that I pay into by standing order each month that I'm saving for Christmas in, and a general savings account that I'm using as a virtual sealed pot.
