Ooo nit nurse, I'm inspired by your plan of action and may do one myself. I will NOT be ill again over Christmas this year![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

I love red wine and usually go for a Rioja, Tesco usually have a couple or nice ones reduced so they are nice quality for around £5. Any Wolf Blass ones are good too. I tend to buy what is reduced from £10 to £5-£7 and have never had an unpleasant one (except a Pinot Nior but they have a smoky flavour I don't like ) x
Snap! I don't drink wine myself but my dad is a Rioja drinker, my mum white. We always get the £10 ones that have been reduced.
I find reds a bit safer with finding a nice one.
The holy grail of wines in this house, which is stocked up on when it's on offer is Campo Viejo Reserva. (orange lable, yellow lable I think is temperillo, also good but thats a every weekend one, orange is special occasions one).
VfM4meplse - cellophane was mixed up with the wrapping paper when I went x
freespirit66 - Well done for trying something new, I am so glad you enjoyed it! I was in the RAG society at uni and did a fair few street collections for charity they can be scary things, all the people you don't know, and don't know how they are going to react.
It's still crazy land here, I've needed to wash my hair for days
Had to have the paramedics out to my gran again last night. Her refusal of hospitals is making things so much harder. She has a water infection now, last night she was breathing but we couldn't wake her. When someones like that how do you tell someone they can't take them to the best place for them!
Off to fetch a riser recliner chair for her now.
too early on a sunday!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

I think you are getting me confused with someone else I've not posted anything about cellophane and definitely not in Lidl as I never go there its way too expensive.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
:santa2:Hi all:santa2:
FeistyFidget. I cannot take the credit for the list I’ve written.:o I stole the idea from Peppapig:T
We are going to have a real tree this year.:j:j:j First time in my life!!!!!!! I have always wanted one but there have always been either children or animals in the house. I would have worried all of the time that one or another would end up with a needle in their foot. This year there are no cats dogs or children but next year we will have our grandchild so this is the only window of opportunity.
I need to buy a stand but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for a second hand one for now.
Have a good day everyone :beer:xx
xxxStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say :whistle:

Went to the Birmingham Christmas Markets yesterday. My goodness, it was hectic! You normally expect these places to be busy, but the "crowd control" measures were just making things worse and most of the day was spent penguin shuffling in a huge crowd, unable to see the stalls or to buy things from them. So much pushing and shoving, push chairs being rammed into your legs etc. It was chaos.
Didn't help that Birmingham New Street station was just as awful in the evening, when it came to getting home. We queued up for half an hour just to get into the station, as they closed all but one entrance, forcing everyone to cram through one door.
I normally like the atmosphere at the Christmas Markets, but I think I might avoid them for the rest of this year. Not sure I could endure another afternoon like that lol.0 -
Hi all, have had quite a christmassy weekend here, finished making a wreath and the garlands I was posting about the other day, and then I had to put them out straight away. I couldn't help myself!
I was inspired by this;

And I made this;
Not quite the same but it does the job and cost about half as much so it'll do for me!
I also put some Christmas stuff out along the mantelpiece, and got the Christmas candles out! Tree is going up tomorrow after work, and I can't wait!
Saw a Christmas market just down the road yesterday while I was out with OH, didn't have time to go so I think we're going to head down next weekend maybe. There's never been one in our area before as far as I know, so looking forward to seeing what's there!
Jobo xxI'm usually using a phone, so excuse my spelling please!0 -
Trees and decorations up loving it. Must sort out elf arrival for the morning x0

Oh Nit-nurse, what a shame you aren't local, I've got one we bought a couple of years ago but moved to an artificial tree last year so don't need it now! Hope you find one near you at a very good price, they're so expensive for what they are.aliaslotte wrote: »I normally like the atmosphere at the Christmas Markets, but I think I might avoid them for the rest of this year. Aliaslotte, that sounds horrendous and such a shame when it could have been such a lovely day. I hate crowds and pushing and shoving but loved the Christmas markets in Germany, nothing like that just busy and festive with lots of fabulous food and everyone having a good time.
Had DD and DGD here this weekend and went to the Christmas fayre in our village today - plenty of people and for once it wasn't raining. DGD, DD and I had our faces painted festively again and I bought some really sweet decorations (wooden gift tags really but I'm going to use them as tree decs). DGD had a great time on the rides and 'won' the usual tat on the tombola. Somehow DD always manages to persuade her that her 'winnings' should stay at Nanny's
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Christmas dec sorting tomorrow and lighting of my large jar Yankee candle - Christmas Wreath - smells like Christmas trees and I'm going to burn it every night until Christmas Eve and pretend my fake tree is a real one lol.It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
I was wondering where on earth to get a reasonably priced wicker basket for my secret Santa hamper when I remembered that I have a stack of hanging baskets I haven't yet used (picked up literally a shed load when they were knocked down to a few pence each last year). The goodies fit perfectly, all I need now is the cellophane
nic2075 - I'd never heard of the Wolf Blass stuff until this week - my parents were raving about it and managed to get 3 for £10 at Morrisons I think.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
