GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY DD1 said thankyou for the tip about the wind up torch, and she asked me to ask you what currency would you recommend for her to get, US dollars or Egyptian money? As she keeps reading conflicting advice
Would go for mixture, hotels take dollars and organised trips will also, but if shopping locally, will need egp, especially as tips are essential. Depending on what they do, don't tip any more than 2 or 3 egp, they may try to give it back as not being enough, but ignore them or say "imshi" that means go away. If they go to Kahn al khalili in Cairo, bartering is essential!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Hello lovelies I'm finally back!
sorry I've been AWOL, things have been a bit manic in the feisty house.
I am now working outside of the house 4 and a half days a week, and balancing the home businesses when not at work. The plus side is lots more money (almost paid my credit card bill!) but a I am exhausted.
We are reconsidering moving to a more rural location so that DH can have the garden he is craving. When his health started to decline we originally wanted to stay near the big hospitals, but DH now just wants to enjoy whatever time we have left. Fingers crossed this decision is a good one![/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Evening everyone, i have been a lazy moo today i woke up at 8am with a sore throat so decided to go back to sleep and then never woke up until 1pm  honestly i reckon i could give teenagers a run for their money
then i had breakfast and coffee, made a studio catalogue order
decided i might as well just have a pj day, watched qvc christmas shows, then painted a bit in the front room that has been a massive frog for ages
PRINCESSKITTY the babys 1st christmas paper and tags are all reduced on studio website now

I hope you enjoyed your lazy day? It sounds lovely
Sadly no interest in the flatWe've had a few viewings now, but no second ones or people that were overly keen. On the plus side we don't need to really start panicking until May next year if we haven't sold

Flowfy – no I think as long as it’s in good condition buying from the charity shop as a gift is a good idea. Some people (myself included at times), give away items that can be like new, they just have no use for them anymore. Plus, your helping out a charity at the same time
Lolalemon – oh my goodness it’s dropping cold with you!!! We have had down to 5* so far, and its very much like an autumn/winter day today with rain and being cold.
Freespirit / arthien – I love that sweet/money jar thing!! Might put something other than money in the middle, but this might make some good little fillers for people THANKS!!!:D
Thanks for links, sale places ect, I am going to have some fun having a look see if there is anything we need/would be good for people I have gifts left to get for
Chrissyg – haha I am going to be fa-la-la-la-laaaing my way through work today:xmastree:
Ameyturtle – I was looking for American sweet deals for my brother, either his birthday or Christmas, so thanks for the links, I will be taking a proper look
Pinksteps – teddy the dog is adorable!!
Ok I think I am caught up. I read on Saturday but didn't get time to post, so have had to do a re-read and have word next to me so I could remind myself of bits otherwise I would of forgot everything
I have picked up other small bits for presents, but I have a day booked off from work at the end of September and I am going to do my usual mid-week (as it is quieter) day of shopping at the local big city. I make myself a list and head out early, have some lunch and do trips back to the car with bags if necessary. It's a lovely Christmassy day for meplus OH isn't a big fan of shopping so he loves me going having my shopping day :rotfl:
I watched the QVC christmas show yesterday, although in bits and bats through the day. I ordered the fudge collection for myself:D:j I am thinking of doing some little homemade fudge packs for gifts / eating plenty myself
When I made fudge from the carnation recipe it was OK but didn't quite taste fully right so I saw this and thought...yep that's for me
Well...I do hope everyone has enjoyed the bank holiday weekend, even if it was a bit of a wash out, at least here it was!
Take care and hugs to all that need/want.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0
