Mojoworking- Families who would have em !
I asked my parents if they would look after my dd for one night for our 10th wedding anniversary and you wouldn't believe the range of excuses we got.

They have 4 grandchildren and my dd is the only one they haven't taken away for even a night let alone the holidays abroad the other three have been on. Dd's issues didn't start until she was 7 yrs + by that age all of the others had had multiple trips to Spain!

Even now my dd is 17 and despite her issues she tries to help around the house but my mum keeps telling me she should be doing more even though she does all the cleaning at my almost 40 yr old brothers house cos its difficult for him and his 13 yr old daughter to do.

A few years ago we had a falling out and we didn't speak for about 2 years there are some days I wish we had never made up.

Sorry everyone for the moan this early in the day !

Needless to say we don't visit often usually about once a year to drop off Christmas pressies but this year I've made sure that the items can be posted.

Thanks all. Sometimes I wonder if it's just me clearly not. Me and dh argue less now I don't speak to them. On the plus side when dd has kids zhe will have no expectations of what a nan should be like so I c an be as lazy as sin kidding. Its obviously playing on my mind as I'm here at silly o'clock. Its very stuffy even though its been raining. Hope everyone has a great day today. I'm going back to sleep . . . . Hopefully x

newthrift I hope everything got sorted in the end and you're able to get on top of your housework.

freespirit wow when you say 23 Friday's left it doesn't sound long at all!!

Ameyturtle glad to hear that the interview seemed to go ok, I have my fingers crossed for you!

Feisty it sounds like you are making the right decision for your circumstances, and I hope that it feels like a little weight has been lifted for you.

Mojoworking sorry to hear about the situation between DD and grandmother, these things are never nice. It sounds like you are right to keep a little distance if she has her door knocked in by police and criminals! I know it's difficult for your DD but i'm sure she's very loved at home and can rise above it.

pixtotts I hope you manage to sort out your Avon wars - didn't know it could be so cut throat!

CHRISSYG thank you for the Halfcost p&p tip.

I've picked up a few more Christmas presents in the Debenhams sale, some good bargains on there! So i'm starting to feel more and more organised but still got a long way to go!

Evening everyone, my tv in the living room gave up the ghost last night, i was watching OBEM and it kept going funny then coming back then just went, i looked it up on youtube and apparantly its not worth repairing, not a happy bunny, they just dont last these days do they, its only 7 years old, and i know i cant replace like for like as it was one of exH cc purchases £1000  and the units are built round the thing so i am going to have to decorate in that area again to make good  so i am having to watch my tv in my bedroom, and my bed isnt the comfiest so my back is killing me (sorry about that just having a rant, my tv is my vice) i just hope this isnt the start of things breaking down in threes :o

RUTHHONEY i finally got the book and luggage stickers posted today :)

The book and luggage stickers arrived yesterday. Thanks so much for those! :j

We have paid a visit to our brand new Wilkinsons in Rotherham today, they have a range of toiletries [fruity] which are on offer 3 for £3 this can include a bath shaped holder ideal for hampers. It would only take about £6 to make a nice gift.

Its way too hot here I am praying for rain and a storm would be nice:cool:

Halfcost have free delivery on orders over £5 until the 20th.

I was coming here to mention the Halfcost thing too. They still have christmas wrapping paper and tags if anyone wants them now. Saying that, I bet the shops will start selling it in a month or so. ;)

I had a 'Minion' day yesterday! Watched Despicable Me 1 & 2 with a couple of friends and ate lots of cheese and crackers. It was really nice. The sun came out for a while too, so we managed to eat in the garden. Had some thunder and lightning in the evening-although no rain. Not sure how we managed to miss it-the sky was black and it looked like it was gonna chuck it down! (I think it must've come overnight)

  • Had a lovely day yesterday, after doing all the usual stuff at home, went to see a friend. We then met up with another and went to see Mrs Browns Boys. If you go with the expectation of seeing a good film, you are wasting your time, if you go for the laugh, you will really enjoy it. They missed out on some of the humour as it is quite Irish, so I had to explain it, but they still enjoyed it. Afterwards went back to friends house for dinner, she went all posh for us! Had salad and samosas for starters, then slow cooked chicken with rice, delish, then we decided to go out to buy dessert. I was driving but not used to where we were going, bleeding useless navigators! Ended up having to go all way round one way twice, but managed to get a spot right outside.. My goodness, the desserts were huge, I don't eat them, so was happy with a frappe, but they had to share the waffle & ice-cream, far too big for one.

Was going to have a chilled day today, but managed to clip my small toe on the shopping trolley, after a couple of silent words with myself, had a look, only to see blood chucking from the ripped nail  Think I will look at packing what I can for holiday instead:o
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Ruth honey and getfing there quickly sounds like you had a great film days the weatherwas very cchangeable to say the least and it sounds great just relaxing and catching up with friends.

Free spirit have you sorted out your tv yet. The only problem I have watching tv in bed is that as soon as I lie down I nod off.

Thank you everyone for reassuring me sorry for ranting. To finish the weekend on a more positive note we went to town for a wander. The shops are awash with rainbow looms and bands. Dd latest purchase was a fish tail loom. Luckily we spotted it for four pounds on a stall the identical thing was twelve pound in claires!!

Yankee candles were having half price sale on all Christmas candle holders etc but was with oh so couldn't as he just doesn't get it. He is fab and will put decs up end of November but mentioning Christmas now would just be murder. I'll nip back later in th same week and buy some.

I hope everyone has had a lovely day x

Gettingtherequickly - OMG they are awesome!!

I'm sorry to say I have no hogwarts cake pictures :( waiting some pre melting to appear on facebook, it melted quite a bit on the way to sisters friends, it wasn't anything amazing, but it was cake which was grey and had glitter and chocolate windows and doors, and a ickle hagrids hut made of chocolate fingers lol.

The problem with Avon is that money is involved and people in charge of teaching us (upliners) how to do it all are so often giving the wrong advice :( this lady has the same upliner as me, so I know she was probably given the same info as me but didn't use her brain like I did... I got told post code, road name, and that I had 50 houses, the road has 188 so I figured I only had part, so researched which numbers, she didn't figure that bit out, and assumed the whole lot was hers hmmph!
Meh anyway I'm in the right place that's all that matters :)

I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
