Hi everyone. Feeling a bit sad today as my husband has just ridden my motorbike away as I'm having to sell it. :(
A few weeks ago I was riding it when I smelt burning and realised my bike jeans had been touching hot metal near the exhaust and were smouldering. Had to pull over and put them out! Luckily I was wearing leggings underneath or that might have been embarrassing. So after that I wasn't comfortable riding it and I'm going to try and get a new bike-one with a lower seat so my legs won't touch anything hot! Not easy when you're inside leg is 25", but there's a shop in Bournemouth that has quite a few cruisers, so we'll take a trip down there on the train and see what suits.
It's sad that my last ride on it wasn't a happy one, but I've owned it for nearly 9 years and had some very nice rides.

Been raining on and off here all day. Good excuse not to do washing, but the freezer needed defrosting, so now doing that. Any tips? At the moment, I've just turned it off and put a tray in the bottom to catch drips. And an old towel on the floor too.

Had problems with Sky+ box this morning. Firstly it wouldn't download any On Demand programmes, then when we tried to fix that, it wouldn't access the planner or do the sky+ rebuild. Called Sky and we had to do a complete reboot, which wiped all our recorded programmes! It was about 75% full. I could cry...
Have lost 2 series of Being Human, all of the current series of Bones, most of Wentworth (which we had watched about 4 episodes and I was really enjoying), most of The Americans series 1 and up to wherever we are in series 2, a couple of episodes of Arrow, some films and a good chunk of Ripper Street. But we have managed to re download Dracula, some recent programmes from Sky and the films will be on again, I'm sure. Just as well we don't have download limits because we've been downloading for hours now!

Hope you all have a nice bank holiday weekend and it's not as miserable and rainy as they are predicting.

    Morning ladies,
I'm after a bit of inspiration please basically my dd has been unwell for 3 weeks now [awaiting various test results] she was very down and said she thinks she deserves a trophy for everything she has gone through , so I thought I would get her one .
I've found a nice one online but I struggling on how to word the sentiment that's where you come in any suggestions ?

That's a lovely idea Chrissy. :) Unfortunately I suffer from writers block when it comes to conjuring up wording like that but there's someone on here who's brilliant at saying the right thing at the right time - I think it's Caitlyn. If she's around I'm sure she can help. Do let us know what you decide on.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

I feel like a taxi driver.

Took ds to the train station at 5.30 as it was raining.
Took dd to work at 11.30 as it's too far to walk.
Picked ds up from the station at 3 as it was raining.
Am due to pick up dd at 9.

I also sold some bits on FB. I dropped a vase off to a lady as I was passing her house, and she gave me a box of Belgium chocolates for delivering it. :D

Next door (the nightmare side) had a party last night. And it seems they are having another tonight. So I am hoping for a downpour later. That should keep them all inside, unlike last night when they were all in the garden until 11. Which is not late, but when you have to get up at 4.30 it's late enough.

Hanley I hope the weather brightens up a bit for you tomorrow. It really is typical Bank Holiday weather isn't it. :(

I hope so too. The weather was unbelievable on the way down. It rained quite badly until we got to Warwickshire. Then we had gorgeous sunshine while we were parked on the M40 for 2 hours while they cleared an accident. Very sad as we heard a lady had parked on the hard shoulder got out of her car and was hit by a lorry. We were close enough to see the police cars but nothing else thank goodness. Everyone got out of their cars and we met some lovely people while we were all stuck there.

Then the rain started again as we got to Slough which is where we are staying. Took us 6 hours to drive a 3 and a half hour journey and couldn't book into restaurant until 8pm cue 2 hungry, tired and naggy children. They're now in bed fighting sleep!

Im not very good at these but i immediately thought of something to do with her being the sunshine in your life who brightens up every day, or for being the most loving and caring daughter anyone could have???

We are just leaving North Wales en route to Legoland. It is pouring down here! What's the weather like down there? :(

HANLEY dont quote me but its supposed to be sunny and dry tomorrow here about 18 (have a lovely day)

NEWTHRIFT good luck with the ebay sales

MANDCO thankyou my lovely, yes it hung around yesterday but seems to have gone today

RUTHHONEY oh ruth thats a bit close for comfort, it is sad when you see something you love drive away, i have done that many a time with cars. Hope you find a fab cruiser, we will want piccies please :) i expect its all finished and defrosted now but i was given a fab tip and use it all the time now of putting a bowl of boiling water in the bottom to help speed up defrosting, OMG i would also be devastated if i lost that amount of recording, does sky not have something like lovefilm/netflix where you can watch anything anytime with those series on?

OMO that made me giggle, blooming nightmare neighbours, a) why are they partying 2 nights running and b) how can they afford it? hope DS and DD are enjoying their jobs.

MRSMONEYPENNY have a lovely quiet night in :) my DD1 is dying to do one of those zombie apocalypse nights, they have one in our town too
