the little kids waiting to get in were so excited it was lovely to see, some even dressed up in Harry Potter cloaks bless em, one little girl was even called Bellatrix :rotfl:saw loads of props and room sets, hagrids hut, the weasley house, dumbledores office, gryffindor common room, the great hall etc then you go outside where you can get a drink and snack, we had a Butterbeer each
mmm was lovely, saw the night bus, the house in privet drive, and the bridge from hogwarts, then into the next building to the second part of the tour including Diagon Alley, Ollivanders wand shop and the most fantastic model of Hogwarts, absolutely beautiful and the lights dim and tiny lights come on in the model
then into the shop (whoa prices absolutely ridiculous i just couldnt buy anything) DS wanted me to get him some Bertie Botts Beans a small box for £8.95  he must be mad. Then we had lunch in the cafe (again quite expensive one chicken burger (no accompaniments) a hotdog with a bit of salad, two drinks £16)
There is also a starbucks there. Really enjoyed it.
BEG oh nice to know someone who has them and is happy with them, the lady in opticians said they take a bit of getting used to, and to actually move my head downwards instead of just looking downwards especially when using stairsthankyou
So pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Harry Potter trip. I think I must be the only person on the planet who hasn't read a HP book or seen a HP film
I adapted to the varifocals really quickly and as for the stairs - I tend to move my head down anyway as I have a thing about coming down stairs and usually have to hold onto the handrail too but that's just me.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

Aww Sis I've got varifocals too. Think I'm on my third maybe fourth pair. Love them least I can see
Just stairs, reading in bed (have to jiggle them to get the right angle) and watching tv lay down. You'll soon crack it. Was only grumbling today as the prescription sunglasses are a few scripts behind so no good for reading but pricy to replace
I'm so pleased you enjoyed your adventure, sound like you've had a great time. xxx
Mrs I has your countdown begun? Your post made me smile, very upbeat. Hope things are going well in the garden xxx
Mandco oh you can imagine they had a ballif you are ever short of ideas for a forty something's birthday I can recommend hiring a digger. They've entertained the children with it too. Win win. xxx
Princess that was very thoughtless of me to mention my darling niece, this is however baby number five! she's had four previous delightful births. People I'm afraid will always fill your head with nightmare stories of horrendous laboursMy advice is to remember that your delivery will be just that- yours. Have your birth plan. Listen to the midwife and get ready for the most amazing thing that'll ever happen to you
And your first cuddle xxx
Chrissy I've picked the info on the 5:2 diet online. It might not be for you (unless I've remembered wrong- do you have diabetes?) Forgive me if I'm confused- it's a regular occurrence I'm afraid! xxx
Linky how have you gone on with the trailer sorting? Quiet? Linky and quiet I can't imagine the twoHope DDs new job went well today
Any news on BF? xxx
b_e_g and me! I've never read or watched any HP. I've probably mentioned I stay well clear of any thing witch/wizardry. I have a feeling we might be triplets - b_e_g, Freespirit and myself. I have to hold on coming down stairs even before my varifocals, I put it down to growing up in a bungalow but I've lived with stairs for much longer so maybe it's not that. xxx
Now a question to the Yankee Candle experts, I am, as you already know a recent convert but have only ever "got on" with the wax tarts. May I ask do the candles have the same "air freshening" effect? I've been using the tarts instead of the plug in airfreshners. Do the candle jars work the same? TIA xxx
Msgigglewick missing you. Where are you? Hope all is well xxx

Ha Chrissy it's very selective. But I try not to forget if a friend tells me something
It's reduced calories 2 days a week (500 calories) and normal calorie intake for the rest of the week. What do you think could you keep your sugars at a safe level? xxx

glad the HP trip was good freespirit
princess, totally agree with every word nanamia said every birth is totally different. listen to your body and your midwife have someone with you who will support you. ive got five children and every labour has been different for me. best one was DS3 i woke thinking yes contractions but because the previous 2 labours had started with my waters breaking i didnt think i was ready to go. within minutes of waking (middle of night) i was really feeling them told DH to fetch his mum to look after the others as i needed to go shes only 5 mins away and when he got back i was holding the radiator doing some weird bellydance thing to take my mind of contractions. Dh drove to hospital and stopped at red traffic lights please it was 3am!!! i told him in no uncertain terms if he didnt get a move on the speed cam photo would likely be babys first photo!!! got to hospital waddled in and was told to sit down and wait for a nurse. i very calmly leaned over the desk and said cant do that as i think theres a babies head in my knickers, bless her it was her first night on the job she looked so scared, was taken up to labour ward but it was busy so i was given a teaching midwife who hadnt delivered a baby for years never did work out why she was there at that time of the morning. anyway they found me a side room hoisted me on the bed popped my waters and DD3 arrived (in a tidal wave). 11 minutes after i got to the hospital. my labour is down as 52 mins from when i said i woke to baby arriving.
funnily enough 3 years later when i had DS1 his first visitor on the labour ward was the midwife who delivered DD3, she had recognised my name on the boards and said she remembered me from the easiest and most calm delivery she had ever seen. so she kept popping in to see how i was getting on and came to give baby a cuddle once he had arrived. the only reason she didnt take over that delivery was they had a medical student whod been spooked with a few deliveries he needed help with and shed told the other nurses and midwives to put him with me as id had more babies than hed delivered and wouldnt give him anything to worry about. kind of glad i was told that AFTER DS1 was born.
must admit it was mildly distracting having a young tom cruise lookalike delivering the baby while occasionally muttering 'oh wow' and 'oh goodness' at certainly points in the birth. remember i was focusing on the wedding ring he had on a chain round his neck rather than anything else when i needed to push. he and Dh even managed to squeeze in a conversation about films they'd watched!!!
ive got a lovely photo of the student and DD3s midwife giving DS1 a cuddle,
what im trying to say is enjoy it relax and remember every contraction is one pain or push nearer to you meeting your new little one and you do forget the pains and remember the best bits as there are far more 'best bits'SPC~12 ot 124

Sunny Morning Greetings
I love this weather, as much as I love Christmas I do love the sun too!!!
I have just caught up on what I have missed the last few days, I have also forgot some of the bits I was going to comment on sorryIt's this sun!! JJ I hope you are feeling better!!!
Nanamia mini digger to assist with the gardening means some serious gardening is going off!! Good luck!! Can't wait to see the finished pictures
Me and OH took full advantage of this beautiful sunshine yesterday and were out at the allotment for 3 hours, weeding/planting/tidying!! Lots starting to come through which is exciting. I have very little gardening/growing knowledge, luckily OH is very good so is teaching me as we go
We both caught the sun so it was aftersun ahoy before bed last night, hopefully it will go a nice brown colour (although not sure what to do with the strap lines just yet)!
Made another scarf after tea last night which is part of my mum's Christmas present. I also made a start on the Father's day gift's Friday, just need to sit with OH so we can decide what other bits to get, I am wondering if to do them a sweet tree each then a couple of other bits....as I say this just had a good idea for one *light bulb moment*:rotfl:
On the Christmas front apart from the scarf I haven't got much further. I think I need to have a good sort through on the birthday's side of thing's first then continue on with Christmas - unless I see some good bargins of use beforehand.
I am ebaying quite a few bits as I have 20 free listings per month so taking advantage of that while it lasts. Fingers crossed I make a little bit of money to add to the savings pot and clear some clutter at the same time.
Looking forward to the bank holiday weekend, fingers cross this weather stops, although I don't think it is forecast too, but you never know.
OH was chuckling as I have now labelled the shelves in the fridge along with some of my cupboard shelevesit all looks so tidy now though, I think he actually quite likes it
Well wishes to everyoneChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Definitely triplets when freespirit gets the varifocals. Oh yes, when watching tv in bed I sometimes slide them down my nose a bit too. AND I too lived in a bungalow until I got married - maybe it does have some bearing on this stair thing
Sorry to hear you are having a stressful morning MrsI with the authorities. Bl@@dy red tape eh.
Lovely weather here again today. Just brought a sheet in off the line to make room for next load, folded it and DH spotted a bird had pooped on it
