Belated happy birthday, Murie!
Just popping on to say I saw a tv ad for Galaxy chocs and they're doing a promo for kindle books with their small choc bars. Each small bar (approx 55p?) with the banner on contains a code which will give you a free kindle book from a selection of 10 titles. Mentioned this to hubby who came home with ten bars of it, so we can have all the books! The bigger bars have an offer on to win a kindle, if anyone is interested in that too.
AAAAND excuse to eat CHOCOLATE!!!lol.
Definitely going to keep an eye out for these, my dad loves galaxy!
I got my hair cut today :j:j yay! First time in years, had to have sooo much cut off it's quite the shock but it does feel so much healthier now

Just popping on to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJ - if anyone deserves a great day it has to be you.
Been poorly this week although had a lovely weekend with DGD. She's such a gem - every time I see her I'm just hit by this huge wave of love, it's just amazing. Really hoping I'm well enough to have DGS2 tomorrow. He's three months old now and totally fascinating (and he's got a gorgeous chubby face and fat legs - I could eat him lol). On a Wednesday my sister has DGS1 and I have DGS2 so DD1 gets a break and we get lots of cuddles!
Hugs to all that need them. I don't post often but I do read every day and love reading about what you're all up to.
OMO - must admit I don't do useful pressies myself - one year my mum bought me tea towels, I was gutted. I did try to hide it, honest I did, but I think my face must have said it all because the family still talk about it now lol. Another year she bought me a new toilet seat - still not sure why :rotfl:
PEPPAPIG oh hope you feel better soon, and you get to have cuddles tomorro with DGS2Ruth_honey wrote: »Happy birthday JJ!

Happy birthday JJ, hope you're having a great and painless day today! :bdaycake:
Again, I haven't posted for a while but I've been reading daily. Last week was half term so we were busy entertaining DDs friends every day. And I've managed to catch up with some of my mummy friends
Getting really fed up with all the rain we've been having lately, need some sunshine!!
And on that note we've booked our family holiday for Easter!! Drum rolls pls: we're off to Canada for a week and then to Las Vegas for another week!!!I cannot wait!! So excited but slightly overwhelmed too as gotta arrange car hire and activities. Luckily we're staying with friends and family so don't have to worry about accommodation. So much to do in not too much time, but I'm not complaining

Sorry today's quote is so late. I have only just sat down from going out with DD at lunch time.
:bdaycake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY J_J :bdaycake:
Hope you have had a lovely day.
Bought myself some new jeans in the Tesco sale today for £9, which I am very pleased with. Got DD some awful shoes in TKMaxx for £25 which she loves :rotfl:. She said she has seen similar in other shops for £70. They are type of thing we had to wear in the 70's. You remember the ones with the platform sole and a really clumpy heel.
Apparently they are all the rage :rotfl:
Also got some fishing tackle boxes in the £ shop, to use when I sort the junk drawer out in the kitchen tomorrow evening. Everything should hopefully have a compartment. So no more odd batteries floating about.0 -
Forgot to say, we went into Burger King for dinner while we were out. On the top illuminated board a Whopper Junior was £2.28. On a little board on the side of the counter it was priced up at £1.49.
I was served by the manager and I asked him how much a J whopper was ? He looked up at the board and said ' £2.28.' I pointed to the little board on the side wall and asked if the J whopper on there for £1.49 was any different ? He burst out laughing and said ' No, and that board has been there all week and you are the only person I know of that has looked at it. So you would like a mega deal J whopper not a normal one ? You are a girl after my own heart. A Money saving shopper !' :rotfl:
So we had a J whopper and chips each for under £5. ( we had drinks in our bags for the 99p shop)

Ty for this Ruth, not that I need an excuse to buy chocolate but if you get free books with it then it would be rude not to right? This is the link to the books in the offer. Ooooh just seen if you want to possibly win a kindle then you need to buy the big bars see here. Must resist...
The yellow ball in the sky looks like it's out again today which would be great if I wasn't super busy at work right now although I did have to scrape my car this morning before work0 -
happy belated birthday jj hope you had a fab dayx
craftmummy the holiday sounds fab,
we got the house subject to referencing now so fingers crossed that goes through fine we should be moving in a couple of weeks :-)0 -
Good morning, sorry, JJ, I missed your birthday, glad it was a good un, tho. Hope that the pain goes away and stays so.
We haven't got the yellow ball, just more of the liquid type. Huhhhhhm.
Have planned our London itinerary, not as MSE as yours was, OMO, but have used vouchers, 2-4-1 discount cards and promos where possible. Going to 3 shows and a ghost bus tour in the evenings, medical type museums and ehhibitions in the mornings and posh afternoon teas each day, really looking forward to it, but not wishing the time away between then and now.
2 more days till payday, and then I can pay the water bill. (resenting it somewhat, as I could have used the free delivered stuff if I got my act together.)
Friend coming this morning to get her new stationery sorted out for the business, as , now she has been nominated for an award we need to do a table presentation as part of the judging criteria. (a senior moment there , couldn't remember the word criteria, and stuff didn't have the right ring to it.
DD is feeling better, the infection is under control and the swelling has gone, so she can drive yay!
Need to get beds made and coffee brewed for friends arrival, play nice, everyone. xx0
