She's not a normal representation of people who buy lots of stuff for their kids though. She's just a representation of someone who is, imo, incredibly stupid. Anyone who puts Christmas before food is an idiot.
Most people cut back or save or even those who take out loans take out loans with affordable repayments. People who go ridiculously daft then can't afford to feed their kids afterwards are rare imo. It's very different to those who live frugally all year then splurge imo.0 -

Shes a bleeping idiot. She could have spent 200 quid in home bargains or poundworld or the like and the kids could have had a good christmas.
Shes posted that hoping that someone will fall for the sob story and bail her out.

I agree, I've enjoyed peoples photos.
Their dinners, their kids opening presents, their trees, all of it.
Thats what facebook is about, sharing your family photos & stuff around your family & friends, most importantly those family & friends who live a long way away.
I think the actual issue with Facebook is that folks have people on there they are not actually interested in.
Rather than have just their family and friends they have all the people they went to school with, folks from their job 10 years ago, the woman that used to live next door but one and their ex friend's ex friend. So they are bombarded with photos and the likes that they have no interested in.0 -

I find it hard to have any sympathy for people like her.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
I also notice there are a lot of posts like this 'Home made Christmas pudding with brandy butter sauce ooooh' or 'home made gateaux with freshly whipped up cream'
'ooooh I love my cheese board selection with home made chutney...check out my picture...'
Everyones turned into Delia Smith!
Guilty as charged, but I'd like to think of myself more as a Nigella - without the livener:D0 -
Saw this today in the Sun. I suspect she'll get paid something for the story...
It's also depressing on the sales pages on Facebook, how many 'unwanted christmas presents' are on there....some were even posted on Christmas Day.0 -
Something makes me think the story in the Mail might be a set-up, but it serves to illustrate the kind of situation people might find themselves in if they take out loans. Today's wants shouldn't come over and above tomorrow's needs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've just been reading that, and thought of this thread! It's sickening isn't it? I really think this particular woman is one nugget short of a happy meal, bragging like she is she can't be right in the head! The comments below it make for interesting reading.0 -
I must be the oldest child around then:rotfl:
Me too lol! :rotfl:
Like was said earlier in the thread, I like to get gifts that are practical, they don't gave to cost a fortune or anything. One of the gifts my Mam and Dad got me was a pair of gloves, one of the best presents I got....along with my Wonder Woman dressing gown!0
