I know ,they run quite a strange shop, you have to prove your stuff "worthy" before which was strange? .I think ill leave the Trading Standards out and just see what Mr Auctioneer has to say ...then police I guess. Thanks for the reply0

What do you mean " you have to prove stuff worthy?"0

Its odd , they wanted to see my stuff first, to see if it would sell? so I sent pictures .Good job really as I wouldnt of had the proof on my phone ! They thought I didnt know what I had got.0

Yes that's normal for auctions. They've turned down stuff if it's poor quality or not saleable.they won't just take anything(!unless they've put it in!)0 -
What sort of site did it sell on?0

I have found an identical bed on Antiques Atlas.
Mine, I think was offered /sold on to another antique shop , I dont even think it made auction.
I cannot for certain say it is my bed yet. But time will tell. I could write down my reasons and proof why I think it may be mine and give to the police.
Im waiting for *cough, cough* a Sold invoice and a Lot number to come through the post to cover their selves, as it is missing from my original invoice. When I questioned this, the charming man on the phone got very stroppy and gave me numerous scenarios on what happened at each auction!
Like I said I dont care if it had sold, genuinely at the auction ,I dont like liars, which they have shown to be. I hope they realise I'm on to them.0 -
My experience has shown they are unscrupulous.i buy but I rarely sell for this reason.0

Hi, Just an update! Received cheque in post on Saturday , I brought a County Court Judgement , Money Claim on Line against the Auction House, for what I paid originally for the bed. He also had to pay the court costs.
I asked for invoice or money .They sent two replies previous to my requests and told me I owed THEM 30p ? They were very condescending and basically saying I was out of my dept with the world of Auctions in the lower end of antiques?
I was sure I had a case and it was shown in court, I thought it possibly would go to a hearing , so I planned for that too , but it didn't have to .
.... so don't be put off by the big guys! I wasnt.0 -
Lets just hope the cheque clears!
Glad your perseverance paid off and thanks for coming back to update state of play.0
