Hi , not sure if m on right forum,
I put a number of items in to Auction. I gave instructions to collect any unsold items, I was told all would sell "even for a £1". I also rang to confirm . After Auction I rang them ,to see if it all sold. They said they wasnt sure as not all cheques were in and would ring me a couple of days later. No phone call. At the end of the month an invoice came. All Lots sold apart from bed. A note scribbled saying Bed not sold in first auction and not at the next weeks auction, then in brackets (tip)
I rang them to ask what has happened to my bed.He said it didnt sell so it was taken to the tip. I was amazed and cross, It seemed odd,as there wasnt a Lot number by the bed on the invoice,[ Ive since spoken to an Auctioneer and he said all items are given lot numbers.] The man went straight on the defence, He said "What did I exactly expect them to do about it" ?? I told him I would be back in touch with what to do , he said theres nothing I could do, as its gone simple!
Got a phone call 2 days later , There was apology and a "crossed wires"... it appears now the bed did SELL in the 3rd auction....for £2 , but when the "man came to pick it up he decided he didnt like it , SO THEY SMASHED IT UP AND PUT OUT TO THE BINMEN! I smelt a rat, So where was the Sold invoice and Lot number? and wheres my £2 ?
Ive done some searching and found a "recently re-polished " with a newly made bed base"1900C Victorian Walnut bed IDENTICAL to mine which sold for £595! 30 miles up the road! I have pictures on my phone still of my bed. I could identify my bed as it had a wooden base{which I kept} and drill holes on the frame.
I dont even think my bed made it to the auction as I had friends there and nobody saw it!which I thought was strange , I put it in the auction and to be honest its doesnt matter how little they said it supposedly sold for its the stories, what they have said and that makes me think the sold it and lined their own pockets. Oh well !
I would be willing to give my cheque from the other items to charity its not about money !What can I do can trading Standards help me ?

Reformatted, not just a long sentence without spaces and paragraphs!0

Your are joking me? I didnt think this site was run by The Grammar Police. So that was a quite sarcastic response? Nice one . Ill go else where for help.
Merry Christmas.0 -
It wasn't meant to be sarcastic, it was meant to make it easier for others to read.0

I didnt know if I had enough space, So I get shot down for not using Paragraphs. Shall I post it again? This may turn in to a Grammar Issue . All I wanted was a little bit of advice.0

With respect the other posters were trying to help.
In the first instance write to the auction house with your concerns IMO and see what they reply. Put any evidence that you have in your letter and ask for the resolution you feel is fair.0 -
Nobody is shooting you down, you are asking for help, formatting the text so it can be read is help.
We could not care less if you don't know the difference between your grammar or your Grandma, we just need to be able to read it.Be happy...;)0 -
Yes,thanks for the reply .
Ive sent a letter Special delivery letter regarding my concerns , I took photos before the auction, so I have the proof.
I found an identical bed and so Ive looked for days and days across the internet to find another one , I just cannot seem to find one, to put my suspicions to bed ....excuse the pun !
I have shown my pictures of both beds to an Ex Auctioneer , he sure Its my bed ! And as its so close to us , only up the road, they possibly have dealings with each other
I know its a long shot , but its just wrong if this has happened ,0
