hello
I will stay in London (Greater) for few months and I will have limited ability to cook and prepare meals.
So, I will only be able to eat out, or get take food home from outside, or prepare meals with minimum kitchen facilities.
What I would like to know is if there is anywhere in London a place to have nice hot meals (even take-away) with a reasonable variety (I cannot eat the same each day).
There are some super-markets that have cookers inside and prepare meals that you can take home, but I am not sure if there are and where they are in London.
Also, any restaurant that offers a great variety of hot meals to eat there or take home, with reasonable prices would be very interesting.
Last, I am not sure if you can suggest me other solutions, like preparing meals at home (I know there are frozen meals at super markets but most aren't quite edible).
Any relevant info, highly appreciated!
Thanks

If it can happen anywhere it will be London!
To help us can you tell us roughly what area you will be in, and what the limitations are on cooking/storing? Also have you a budget for food costs.
You might also try the Old Style board when you have the replies above, they are super helpful!Formerly- Greenmoneysaver

I know a lot of people will turn up their noses but we have several cafes near us that serve anything from all day breakfasts to roast dinners and everything else in between , including pasta, curries, pies and salads the ones we have are clean and the dishes are fine for an everyday meal and reasonable in price several of them do take out options as well.. even our local Harvester now does a take out service. I live in Ealing but I'm sure this type of thing exists in most areas you just have to look for them.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

as eating is my major concern, I will basically find a place to live near where I will find a solution for eating!
I don't have a budget for food, but I would like to keep it as low as possible, but without eating the same food each day (I need variety) and it must be hot normal full meals (not cold sandwiches, etc)
limitations in cooking is that I will have an oven, an microwave oven and minimum cooking utilities0 -
You can do a lot with a microwave - heat ready meals bought at the end of the day from supermarkets, cook pasta (not ideal but put it in water and stir every now and then), cheese on bread, you could probably cook rice too and so on.0

are there any super markets with cooked food hot ready to eat to take home?0

I would prefer to go and take away a hot meal with 5pounds0

Whole Foods would be ideal for you - http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/department/prepared-foods however there's only 5 stores open in London, and hopefully you'll be near one of them.
Otherwise, there's Pret a Manger which serves a variety of hot food, and a couple of Japanese fast-food style places - Itsu and Bento, and possibly a few others as well which offers hot food which you can take away. They offer healthy soups and rice/noodle dishes.0 -

So why are you looking for cafes or takeaways when you have an oven and a microwave? Sorry, I don't understand. That is all you need, surely. All you are missing is a hob and a grill and you could use the microwave for anything you'd heat/cook on the hob and a rack in the oven for anything you'd grill (except toast).0 -
If you are looking to save money (I assume this is why you have posted on the DFW board), spending £5 on one meal is not the way to go about it. I can't think of any meal you could not make with a microwave and an oven, especially given that many ovens include a grill.
Whole Foods is a lovely store, but certainly not for someone on a budget,0 -
