i am on orange and pay the extra £4 a month and my bills are horrendous!! I am paying £35 a month for the package and because i use the wap my bills are around £80 a month!! The £4 add on is only for Orange World, not the rest of the WAP. We have deleted WAP off our phones now as it is so expensive. When we were on 02 it was free all the time! Our dream has come true...

Unlimited evening and weekend WAP browsing is £5 a month on Orange.
Ulimited all day is £8 per month (however, this one is subject to a 20mb cap)
I used to have the £4 bundle and used it for WAPing whatever I wanted. Only got charged when I went over 4mb, which is all the £4 entitles you to.......0 -
I kniow what the £4 entitles me to. Access of Orange World only. I have never been offered any other bundles except the £4 Orange World one. I have been told that there is not a bundle to include any other sites except Orange World.
So if you want to check your e-mails daily on yahoo or hotmail for example you will be charged a fortune. Our dream has come true...

I don't know if it's different for contracts but I'm on Orange PAYG and buy the £4 Orange World Extra. I don't actually use Orange World but Opera Mini browser to read the news, check web mail, banking and that comes out of my Extra, it doesn't make any distinction for me between Orange World and the Internet. If the Extra gets used up and you're then charged at the £4 per mb rate it's going to be a lot but I've always just bought another Extra when one runs out.

As I use web n walk which is unlimited, how do I know what my usage is? I have no idea what I would need from another network unless it was unlimited. 4mb actually means nothing to me. How much data is that?0

Evidently not, as you said this:Access of Orange World only.
Orange say the bundles DO NOT include the following: modem access for computers, internet based streaming services, voice or video over the internet, Instant Messaging, peer to peer file sharing and non Orange internet based video
Nothing there about non-Orange WAP sites.:rolleyes:0 -
Looks like all the above deals are monthly contracts - does anyone on PAYG have a way of accessing GPRS internet? (I make almost no mobile voice calls but am interested in occasional data use).0

The only provider that I know of on PAYG that gives proper GPRS Internet access rather than WAP Internet Access is Orange. I used to use an Orange PAYG with my TomTom 910 for Traffic Updates on PAYG. But IIRC it is not that cheap for heavy data usage.Cheers

T-Mobile PAYG charge 0.73p per kb capped at £1 per day (free SIM at their website). I'm sure that I read that Orange were introducing new tariffs in June but their website seems to be as it was. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
