    Thanks for all your responses ...OH is going to look tomorrow.
    Its a single storey extension .DS and OH are roofers so DS has checked guttering and slate roof.Its prob a godsend its rented as he wont have to pay for the works to be done .:)

    The damp has taken the shape of the blocks.

    Wonders if that wall is actually dry lined ?

    Very unusual for that pattern to absorb through 1/2 inch thick plasterboard.
    Back to square one, no apg, no comment.
