Thanks zippy for the new thread.

I ve had slight food poisoning . Ate some pizza yesterday evening and don't think I cooked it well enough. Been suffering ever since with the usual sickness and d*******a , lovely. Still had to venture out today though. Went to Morissons and all I bought was the 3 tins of salmon for hubby and a Christmas Yule log. I remember last year they were reduced to £2 but were still £3. 50 :(.

Aww no! :( Hope it passes (pardon the pun ) quickly Em and you're feeling better for Christmas Day

Just to add to the gammon with gravy debate...I wouldn't but some might like it. How about making a trio of sauces....parsley, onion and a meat based gravy then you've covered all bases

I have another question for you. We are eating out tonight as a family....somewhere posher than usual.
They add a 10% discretionary service charge to the bill automatically.

Would you pay it even if the service was good or decline and add your own tip?

If you are happy with the service then pay it BUT... don't just pay it as an extra on a card payment. Give the server cash. If you pay by card the manager/hotel owner is legally allowed to keep it, but cannot ask for any cash tips back.
Some unscrupulous managers are using the electronic tips to pay wages:mad::mad:

ETA: Or at least ask the server if they will personally get the tips that you pay by card. (might be easier than arranging enough cash if there's a lot of you.)

    It's only a game

Sorry to hear that but unlikely to be pizza as not much on there to go wrong? Possibly a D&V bug (one/other/both are symptoms at the moment) as quite a few going round including winter vomiting - loads in Little Anon's school were off over past couple of weeks. Thought we had got off lightly with a couple in our house getting it but DS redecorated the bedroom last night :(. Feather duvets do not clean well ...

  • Thanks for new thread Zippy :T:T:T

Been to Mr A's & Mr T's today and you would have thought war was about to break out. Took me nearly 3/4 hour to park  Car park was gridlocked
  • Wow new thread appeared quickly, thank you!

Just had a call from T direct after complaining about my delivery on Saturday, and they're sending me a £30 credit by email.
Wind here horrendous so I wont be going out to spend it today!

Went to T's this morning, took 20 mins to park, but everyone in there although it was rammed, were in the Christmas spirit, even some of us singing along to the music as we shopped :rotfl:

Got everything I need/want now I hope... couldnt find the star shaped cake thing, but I can live without it. And dd will have to get her own gluten free mince pies as ts didnt have any.

Is it Choc oranges on 02 ap tomorrow? tia :j
:hello: The grass is not greener, it just looks that way from a distance :hello:
