Well we have had the mother of all clear outs - just shy of 300 DVDs, blurays and CDs split between cex and music magpie.

The total is estimated at £366.49, which is great, but most of the pile were DHs so the money will go to him. I should get a bit though :)

Wow well done everyone. I am still yet to make anything although I have quiet a bit in the pipeline so should start to see different things hit my account. I have found a £50 John Lewis voucher which i am tempted to put on ebay. they seem to be going for £48 plus! that would be nearly 1/6 of my challenge sorted with one item.......... I do need to buy birthday pressies though.......

Sold some DVDs at CashConverters after waiting in the longest queue ever - everyone else was trying to buy back stuff they'd pawned before Christmas! Meagre £2 for 6 DVDS, but it all adds up...

Not much to write home about so far this month - £1.23 from Qmee, which I didn't realised had wiped when I upgraded my browser, and 31p from trailer apps.

Treated myself to a new printer in the sales (tax deductable of course as will only use it for the business ;o) - so can now get stuff off to Ziffit, Zapper and Music Magpie again!! And print coupons as the arrise! - So it should hopefully pay for itself until it goes on the 2015 tax return!!

  • Hi everyone,

I've been lurking but am so inspired by you all I have decided to join! Hope that's ok Aesop.

I have never done anything like this before but am quite excited by the challenge!

I've joined some other challenges as you can see from my sig but I think this one is the most challenging!

Having said that, I'm off to a good start! Using all your tips we have just sold some DVDs and games to music magpie, ziffit and zumu - and candy71 is right, it is really worth copying and pasting the barcode into each as the results really differ.

Anyway, that's netted us £54.10 which gave me the confidence to speak out!

This morning we packed away Christmas which was sad but also motivating. I'm on a mission to make sure I know what's in every drawer, cupboard, nook and cranny and not keep anything we don't use. I'm sure it'll take me all of January to get there bit by bit but I'm determined!

Just about to list four items on fleabay which we think will get more than the sale sites will offer. Fingers crossed!

So, I think I'd like to start at £5 per day for January and our total so far is £54.10.

Good luck everyone - and thanks for the inspiration!

The boiler hasn't been working for 3 days so that's saved me a nice bundle and Ive had 3 NSDs. Made a bday cake today using scraps in the cupboards, its come out really well and only paid £1 for it as I had to get eggs. Found a new bday card hidden away in a draw so its been quite a frugal day. No actual money made though....! :D
