    Hi
i only have one pony just now, she's a 16.3hh shire x tb, and is rising 17, can't believe i have owned her for 9 years this year.
she was a nutter, but now she is just a great fun lump.( has huge personality) although has injured s.ligament twice this year in field.
    taught her loads of tricks.
did have a coloured youngster, but due to circumstances i sold her. loved her to bits. bought her on myself, and sold her to a fab home.
what do you do with your lot?
    you must be kept busy.
    x
    want another, but not yet.

We show them at big shows and local shows. I have welsh ponies and riding ponies and also 8 Irish Draughts x TB. I just enjoy showing my youngstock! I have had horses for many years, i had my 1st pony at 2 and never been without a horse since then!!

    This is my 19 year old TB X ID at a local show this year;

    Why?

Obviously you live in the country have animals that need to be worked.

Id rather know a gun dog was out working all day then cooped up indoors in a crate waiting for someone to come home from work let it out.

    he is a Beautiful horse.
my youngster did very well showing.
    miss her loads.
My now horse, i have had since i was 22, she is my first pony:D we were both green as grass when i bought her, have learnt loads.
had a few goes at SJ and XC and she did me proud,
specially at SJ as my friends made me go in their open level team:eek: we won, was such a proud moment, she had loads of treats to say well done.

love idxtb's would consider one as my next pony.
not from a horsey family, which is actually great, as it is all my hobby :D

my horse is quite mse, v. good doer. lives out. looks after her rugs (watch her wreck one now:rotfl:) hardly any feed in the winter. neighbour offered me really cheap ound bale hay. and says i can help myself to carrots.
just wish i didn't have her by herself in field for last few years.

    .
THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.
  • I know nothing about horses but one thing I do know is that there are far too few pictures in this thread, darn it!

GotToChange has a most beatiful horsey. Even to these non-specialist eyes he's a stunner.

    Isn't lostinrates a horse-person as well?

Come on, get them piccies up, thankyouplease

Hi, can anyone give any reccommendations for a cheap and reliable insurer. It will be for a 2.5 year old piebald cob (gelding) who at the moment has not been handled much and so will be being schooled - unlikely to be ridden for the first 6 months at least, valued at about £1000.
cheapest I can find so far is £22 pm with SEIB. Thanks.

gottochange's old man is a credit to her IMO.

Yes, we have horses, but DH and I have a strict rule of no counting ATM (I did ban him from two colts he liked in spring, but I might now be sneaking a filly in....).

I have two - one that I bred myself - hes 10 now (god, where does time go??!) hes on loan to a fabulous patient lad up north, after a very non-illustrious career on the racetrack and some horrible horrible things happen to him when I passed him to somewhere that I thought would look after him.

and one that I have here, I was given (arrived about 2 months ago, but officially became mine just over a year ago)

(yes - I am aware that shes a bit on the lean side-we are working on that!!)

love them both very very much, though my "youngster" (not so young now!) put us all through the mill with various problems over the years.
Very odd being horseless when I was !!
