Afternoon All,
Nearly ready for the big day here - we are hosting 4 others.
Just some present and card delivering to be done today and hopefully very little tomorrow as the weather forecast is horrendous.
Must push on, hugs to all that need them.0 -
Afternoon All
Tru - I love your wreath, it's just right.
Molly - Big hugs to you.
Jools - Thinking of you.
DD and I went to stay at a hotel in Glasgow last night which was lovely, also went to Jamie's Italian for something to eat which was really good, great atmosphere and good food. DD was sick in the night though, I think it was too much rich food, she's fine now.
Weather is horrid but not got high winds yet, just very wet. Went to John Lew!s and treated myself to a new sewing machine - mine got damaged in the move and had to go to the tip. May have a play with it later.
All food shopping now done, don't care what dinner is like, we wont starve!
Take care.XX0 -
Goodness I think I'm having a nervous breakdown. Trying to clean but the boys are being so naughty. Just so so bad. I can't even write it down.0

Hey Strangers!:D:D:D
Hope you're all keeping ok? Not really been reading as haven't been well again and back in hospital etc.
DD is now away at Uni, she got her full distinctions and is now doing a BA in Art, Media and Product Design. She's enjoying it but struggling too as she's missing us plus she's been diagnosed with depression, possibly bi-polar, so she needs more assessments done to determine what meds they're going to give, then the tweaking will start and hopefully shell feel better:j:j:j:j Were so very proud of her and her Art work is outstanding, she has been asked to head an illustrator club at Uni. Financially stuff is so expensive, but she gets a budget from us, she works and we squirrel stuff for her when we see stuff she likes or needs.
Fortunately, work is doing very well and is looking like we'll expand more in 2014 as there seems to be an opening in the market for the the 2 jobs OH does and Ive started working online from my bed most days, but at least Im keeping the brain busy whilst I can.
Due back in hospital for a few weeks at the beginning of next year, but won't go on about it.
Still money saving and use vouchers, moan if not happy, voucher codes, yellow stickers when OH goes out late/early. Have so much for in freezer....must get OH to do a list then I can properly meal plan again. Already got stuff for 2014 from Body shop at 60% off online, Amazon numerous gifts with 40-80% off and Superdrug with 75% off.
Anyway, hope you're all ok.

Hello all!
Survived yesterday, just about, with many tears and some laughs too, and overwhelmed with all the lovely supportive messages from folks from here and elsewhere, thank you all!
MOLLY huge hugs, families are such a worry and can make us feel so helpless at time, still there with DS on occasion, yesterday and today haven't been easy for him or to be with him!
I ventured to the shopping centre today looking for his new playstation, its not in the shop yet, they tell me it will be in tomorrow but can't give me an idea of when, said they will text me when its in.............do they know how impossible it will be to get parked???I suppose I will need to get up early and go, will nip into sainsbobs or m&s for some more wine whilst there, I feel I will be needing it!!!!
Hope you all have a calm afternoon, I am watching the santa clause!RIP Iain

Afternoon Everyone :rudolf:
We were up and out as soon as Frog woke this morning to do the big shop at Mr T's. Hopefully we won't need to go out again until well after Christmas! It was busy but not hideous, DH said it was a good plan as it was getting seriously busy when we were leaving. We were home and packed away by 9.30
I've finished the last of my wrapping, DH just needs to do his now whilst I ice the cake. It's ridiculously late but time has run away with me. The last two cakes are gifts for my grandmother and DH's parents to can be marzipan'd tonight and iced on Boxing Day to give me a break from them all - they go home on 27th
I added coloured fairy lights to the tree last night and now it has a Quality Street feel to it that makes me want to eat chocolate :rotfl:
DH had to go to the high street to post something and he came back saying the supermarkets were heaving and it was getting a little tense in the car parks
We start tomorrow with all the family arriving, I'm also half German and have generally started the celebrations on Christmas Eve. By the end of Christmas Day I will have had enough of the rellies and will be seeking sanctuary by sorting the washing!!
Hope all is well with everyone and hugs all round xxWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
Just dropping in to wish everyone the best Christmas possible. Horrid weather though - I hope everyone stays safe. I was going to deliver the neighbours' cards today, but I think it had better wait until things have eased a bit tomorrow afternoon
P_P - Lovely to "see" you.

This is the first sit down I've had all day! .... Went to Mr T's with dh, wish I hadn't bothered, it was blooming awful, it took us god knows how long to find a parking space then once inside, jeez! I'm lucky I have any ankles left the amount of trollies that were rammed into the back of them, next year I'm going to do all my shopping online, cannot be doing with that again.
Was meant to be going up town to get a last min present I'd forgot but just couldn't be bothered so we went to Mr S's instead which was lovely, we found a parking space no problem, there was no trollie rages and the gift sets were all half price.
Just made 3 cheese cakes and a strawberry flan, the flan and 1 of the cheese cakes are for us to take to our friends tomorrow eve when we go round for dinner and the other 2 cheese cakes are for us to enjoy over the next 3 days....just got the trifle to make tomorrow morning
The weather is horrid here, the lights keep flickering so may get the candles ready just incase as the village normally always loses power when we have strong winds.
Have a good evening all xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -

Hope its just excitement. Its amazing where the extra burst of energy comes from in the build up to Christmas day.
The night before Christmas I was really mean and sent my little ones to bed early. I told them the sooner they fell asleep the sooner morning would be here.
However, it very often backfired as they were usually up at the crack of dawn.:(
ps I think we will be eating turkey for a good month or so. Ive bought one that's a bit too big for the three of us.... and the pork... well lets not go there.:oThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
