    Xmas Saver!
I know we start the December as the new santas challenge - but can't believe we're half way though the year, this is no 6.. where has the time gone!!

    [/COLOR==Santas Element==
Address books, - take 5 mins to check the address book, has anyone moved, changed status, even tel no.

Christmas Card List - Don't worry you haven't got to write any cards, just do a list to see whether you need to make any special cards, or you need special cards, (babys 1st Xmas, Uncle, etc.

    Passwords

after reading about ebay being hacked I was quite surprised to see that this had happened a while ago, I know everyone says change your password, but also check your other accounts, - as i'm sure if your anything like me I tend to use 3 or 4 passwords for different accounts - list 1st then go through changing them (just to be on safe side)

    Fathers Day
We have fathers Day around the corner, and don't forget Grandads as well...

    make someones day...
Whether it is ringing up an old friend you haven't heard from for a while, writing a letter, or saying hello to someone at the bus stop, go and see a friend bake a cake, whether its just a smile - it make us feel as good that we have put a smile on someones face

Last months - mystery meal comp
sorry things have been a bit hetic this month, so leave it open for another month - hunt the cook books and see what page it comes under

    Mediciation
Think of it as a DIY review - check your tablets, are you going to b going away and need any tablets, - if its out of sync from your normal ordering pop a note in - such as on hol gettting sorted,

Check whether you have some basics for the summer
Paracetamol, ibuofen, allergy tablets (thou do check whether they make you drowsy), plasters

    Football Free Zone
Come on ladies - pick a treat, whether it is read a book, spend an hour in the garden, trying a new task, - make it as mse as possible

    Car Boot / Summer Fayres
Now is the time where everyone is getting the stuff from the garages, out of the loft, so whether your a seller or a buyer - now is the time. One tip is schools - generally they have a good support network from the parents, and as there one offs (or monthly) then you have less chance of the same person with the same stock.

    Miss Hoodies Challenge
Do I say the corner we dread!! This time Miss Hoodie feels you all should have a rest from her cleaning challenges - instead shes setting a spending challenge £2...... So whether you get something from a car boot school fete, event, charity shop, - it has to be or one of 2 uses - a useful present for yourself, or something that you can use as a present - it can be one thing or if your lucky enough to get a couple of things have fun peeping in all those boxes.

    ---
as always treat it as a pick and mix,
    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Hi everyone. Been so busy. Trying to do bathroom up at the moment. Got cupboard built in around sink and it was a mess so I have taken doors off and scraped the paint off. Need to do a new top for it as well. Going to take a while as busy with other things too. Son is moving today so helping out there. Yd had 12 WK scan and all seems well this time around. Hope you are all well xx

Sorry, I am still laughing at the wheelchair friendly room on the first floor with no lift! Is that called creative thinking or thinking outside the box??
    How utterly ridiculous
Glad you have found suitable accommodation and that the problems will be sorted!

Was it Rufusdog learning to swim? I think so. Very well done so far
    My suggestions are:
Buy swimming goggles, that way you don't have chemicals in the eyes.
Get a big bowl of water and put your face in that (I saw a swimming teacher show that on Wogan... oops... hints at my age!!) You can practise opening your eyes in the bowl of (warm) water.
Learn to float on your back (get a friend to help with this as for starters they just need to support under your shoulders) Once you can float confidently you can get yourself out of the panic situation. You can practise this by holding onto the rail with one hand... but I think you need the spare bod to help you let go...

    Get some swimming lessons

    Enjoy!!

I finally learned to swim after I was taught to float. I then taught myself back stroke.

I have been buying toys etc. for my grandchildren for Christmas and putting them away. I have decided not to buy anything else for the time being as I am "stealing" an extra little holiday with my daughter and family in a French campsite in August. I have paid for the (cheap) flight but need to find some spending money quickly. Have considered selling stuff on ebay but not sure just now.

So, Christmas planning is on hold for the moment, unless, of course, I come across any bargains in France, lol.

Thanks for the tips katiehound. I haven't been since yet. I have free swimming at our pool due to disability. We have three pools. Main one, baby one, then the shallow end ofaun pool is blocked off for lessons. I rang and asked if they could tell me when the middle pool is free while I get free swimming as its not every day and she said its being used all the hours I can go for free. So if I want to go in there I would have to go on a Thursday and pay instead. I could go in main pool but I would feel a bit silly in there with a float.

Personally I don't think other people will think you are silly with a float in the main pool. In fact you may well find that a confident swimmer will help you!
If it isn't too expensive then I would give it a whirl but check beforehand to avoid really busy times- too many people create a lack of confidence... even I am overwhelmed if the pool is crowded and I am trying to do backstroke (without eyes in the back of my head!!!)

    Hi all

Thanks for the concern mum2one, I've been out all the time in the past couple of weeks plus I had DS2 from Thursday last week but his dad was having him at different day/ times to normal so everything was out of sync and we were out a lot of the time instead of chilling at home.

I got the results from the blood tests so would be grateful for some input.

Years ago I had a cholesterol test and it was in the 5's somewhere and I was told it was too high so was told to change the ways I eat and return in 3 months time - now it was much lower.

This time around it was 6.5 (different doctor) and was told it was satisfactory. I also got satisfactory for diabetes, thyroid and lots of other tests.

Kidney has to be repeated in a few months time and I have to make a telephone appt to talk about the Vit D.

So why am I now being told that 6.5 is satisfactory (plus the other results) where I guess other doctors may think they are too high.

The swelling on the neck has got smaller and the irritation on the neck has got much less.

I still have a horrendous hay fever type cough which is bad some days and disappears on others.

I have a wedding coming up on Saturday so had a few exhausting attempts at buying clothes and Wednesday/Thursday I'm spending all day with the bride-to be at my house as it's the hen night and I'm helping her out from midday - going to docs with her then back to mine for food before going back out to meet others, then she's staying over and she also came round Friday/Saturday and also coming round later today and may be staying over so that's why I've been awol.

She was told today the honeymoon is off (straight after) but there is another proper one booked later in the week, and there were other disasters also yesterday. That does happen with weddings, you never know what may happen.

The texter is supposed to be driving me to the wedding but I have my doubts, his dramas have spiralled out of control lately and I have kept away as much as possible.

So if I'm not around for a while you know why. I'll catch up on everyone's posts next week - I've read all the latest but don't have time to reply as friend will be round soon and I have things to do. .

i would try not to worry too much about the results of the tests if the doc says they are satisfactory but maybe next time you see them mention that you were told 5 was high previously so why is 6.5 now ok. it could be that they are looking at the bigger picture and not wishing to stress you over small things. how did you get it down before maybe you could just make it a personal goal to see if you can reduce it before the next test.
i hope the wedding all goes well and smoothly and that you have an alternate way of getting there if you are let down by texter.

need to get some stuff done to tidy the house, i had the weekend off and its looking a bit messy, i also have some crafting stuff i want to complete and DS1 has just been sent home from work ill - think he has tonsilitis managed to get him a docs appt.

i must go through the list to see what i can achieve off it this month.

    hope all are well

It's very quiet on here! but I am still lurking.Hope everyone is well.

Today signed up for the shoe box appeal:
    http://linktohope.co.uk/shoebox-appeal/joining

This year they have a £10 challenge, and I know we all like a challenge! They reckon that £10 will cover almost all the items on the wish list and they show you how. Buys are from major supermarkets, £shops and our friend Wilkinsons.
    http://linktohope.co.uk/shoebox-appeal/%C2%A310-shoebox-challenge

This week if you shop in Wilkinsons they are handing out coupons- £3 off £15 shop valid for next week and £4 off £20 spend x 3 for the 3 following weeks. I am planning to buy the toothbrushes, flannels, colouring books for the boxes etc and then dog hide treat items, cleaning products etc. I shall certainly not be spending £20 each week!!!

Last thing I noticed in there were the rubber stamp sets for boys- aliens and space rockets+ 4 inks now £1. Great little stocking filler.
