Happy half term
Here at Pavlov towers we are gently beavering through our to do list. The kitchen has had a second KM pass over, yielding another bag of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasure for the charity shop. It has had a thorough clean. Just the oven to go... my second least favourite cleaning job _pale_ I have the ovenpride on standby and I think I will leave it to work its magic overnight.
My FiL has installed our new light fitting and is now helping OH to strengthen and increase the height of our rear garden wall. We have several tip runs to do to shift a lot of garden waste to make room for the next phase of the project (breaking up a scary amount of concrete and digging out a load of lawn so we can install a patio).
We are currently really enjoying the final season of Person of Interest. I think this is the strongest season yet. I'm sad to see it go but thrilled that they seem to be going out on such a high. If you're in the market for a new boxset to sink your teeth into then I'd heartily recommend it.

May total = £85
£60 TT, £25 Swagbucks
June total = £140
£140 revision session
May transpired to be spendy with very little slush left over. June should prove a little better. I'm currently chasing £40 owed by our solicitors and will be cashing out another £25 of SBs. I'm tantalisingly close to payout with Yougov which will be another £50 when the time comes.
Current Cumulative total = £1042.49/£1050
This month will see the successful completion of the 1% challenge take 1. I'll definitely start again in July, albeit with a slightly smaller target as this month the mortgage should drop out of the £100k category permanently.
:j:j:j:j:j:j
According to my initial snowball of the basic payments of the original mortgage, we are almost £17k ahead of schedule

Gumtree has worked magic again
I've sold something for £3 that only cost me £8 and has seen 7 years daily use. Granted it isn't going to make me an overnight millionaire, but by GG's price per use philosophy I've more than had my £ss worth, an item has been saved from landfill and a Gumtree-er is happy that they've got a billy bargain.
Plus there's a bit more wiggle room in the room of doom.
Garden wall is shaping up well. I've had no motivation for DIY so I've begun making resources for my new A Level syllabus.

* I've OP'd the £7.51 necessary to complete the first 1% challenge.
*the 1% challenge #2 will be £1000, and I'm already out of the starting blocks to the tune of £50 (£25 SB and £25 reward for the FD credit card offer from a while back).
* I've dipped my toe into the Music Magpie waters to declutter some DVDs. A small batch to start with, plus Quidco, should net around a fiver.
* Through a conscious effort to eat less crap this past week I've lost 2lbs. Hoping to shift a 1lb or two a week every week for the remainder of the half term.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
You can tell school has been manic by my absence for the past month. On the bright side, it means you'll have missed my angry ranting about Brexit.
8 more working get ups and still lots to do before the end of the year. I have an interview tomorrow for an opportunity to be paid to lead a project. It is something I am interested in and will be good CV fodder should I ever want to go for other jobs.
I don't think I mentioned it but we were supposed to be going to Italy for October HT. The airline have cancelled our flights, so we have substituted for Portugal. I'll fully believe it once the system updates and I can see it on my booking, but assuming all goes well £400 return flights for the £100 we paid is a billy bargain!
On to the financials, and the big news is that the mortgage has left the £100ks for good.
