mum and son cats fighting :(

Hi all, my mum cat Darcy had her kittens on 9th june this year and I ended up keeping Wesley one of the males (he was rehomed at 10 weeks but bought back within a couple of days through no fault of his own). Darcy was happy to see him again and they have been fine until a few weeks ago.
Darcy goes out all the time and when she does come in she hisses and spits at Wes. Wes is a really placid loving male, always coming for cuddles. He approaches Darcy but she always reacts badly. recently I have seen him run at her, its almost like he knows she hates him so hes now winding her up even more.
any advise??

No advice, too late for that obviously. All cats should be neutered. Why wasn't yours?
because she wasn't actually my cat.......
I was kind enough to take her in, help her raise her kittens, get her neutered and provide vet care for her
as with her son, the person who had him contacted me after a couple of days to say he couldn't cope so I took the kitten back to give him a good life
thanks for your advice tho and merry xmas

Try a feliway plug in.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I have litter sisters here and one of them occasionally gets a bit bossy with the other. I use a Feliway with good results and always make sure I have one in. I don't run one all the time as the behaviour is very sporadic.
I wonder if the boy is now sexually mature and Mum doesn't want him anywhere near her? He probably wouldn't be attracted to her as she won't come in season, but he will smell mature to her IYSWIM

I did wonder about him being sexually mature now and if that's affected the relationship between them. ill try the feliway thingy0 -
Has Wes been neutered yet? If not then that could be the problem. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

My advice only is that all animals should be neutered including cats and dogs.
Hope your mother's cat has been done now. Sure it has.0 -

she wasn't my mums cat either.....she was a stray cat that was pregnant
regardless I do agree animals do need to be neutered but people need to read posts closely before attacking people who are asking for advice.0
