Daughter left Uni, help needed accommodation costs.

Hi, my daughter has left her university course and therefore her accommodation.
However, she still has to pay for her room for the whole year unless someone else takes it which seems very unlikely.
Her finance will cease (even though it was to pay for her room?) but she is expected to make the full payments.
I have tried speaking to the people who run her accommodation (CRM Ltd) but the people based at her office are very unhelpful. I asked about a payment scheme but they just said they would take her to court. Tbh, they seem very inexperienced in general and have always been very rude and lacking in knowledge whenever I have spoken to them.
I am clearly going to have to seek help but before I speak to the management company does anyone have any advice please?
Thanks:)

Why did she leave her course? What did she expect would happen, a pat on the head, and all costs would b waived?

It should say in the contract that she's still liable for rent if she leaves.

If would imagine the best you can hope for is a payment plan but I'm pretty sure she will be liable as per her contract. Guess she needs to try and get some work to pay for it.

Sorry, I don't expect her not to pay. I was just wondering if it was possible to spread the cost. Not sure where she'll find £1700 in two weeks. Obviously her loan would have covered this.
She is looking for a job.

I don't really think you should be dealing with this for rather than supporting her while she does it. How else will she learn from the results of her decisions?

Thanks, yes I appreciate this, but sadly the admin people based in her accommodation are not the best and just seem to fob the students off.
She has approached them several times already.

There is really no need for snide replies like this. The OP was just looking for advice.

Is this the first time your daughter has been away from home which is why she has chucked in her course - is she homesick? Maybe the course was wrong for her and she could ask to switch subjects - that way she could continue with her studies and still have a room.

Maybe she should have a chat with the student welfare officer at the uni - they are there to help especially with new students who are away from home for the first time and are therefore homesick and afraid.

I wish her luck in looking for a job - there are not that many to be had and these days even secretarial jobs are asking for a degree.

Is this uni owned accommodation? Or a private rental? Or privately owned halls of residence?

The girl had the privilege of going to university and dropped out, taking a place that someone could have had. I seems reasonable to ask why she left.
