What do you buy in M&S food that makes you shop there?

What is wrong with their prices? Other than fruit and veg their prices are on par with everyone else's. If you are downshifting a tier then they will not be first choice. But there are plenty of people who are not interested in such shenanigans. And M&S are not significantly dearer than Tesco or Sainsbury's.0

They have lots of gluten free products in their normal ranges e.g. chicken in breadcrumbs. Most other supermarkets have very few gluten free foods apart from in their gluten free section.
I bought most of Christmas buffet party food from M&S, I couldn't find anything in Asda or Aldi that was gluten free.
I agree it is expensive compared to the other shops so I only shop in M&S for special occasions. But I do think the quality of their products is better.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I often buy from M&S as I work nearby and I walk past it on the way home.
I don't think I have ever had anything from M&S I didn't like. I don't personally think its anymore expensive than our usual Sainsbury's shop and the meat from M&S is far superior to Sainsbury's and is often the same price or cheaper!0 -

The only 2 items they sell that I cannot get better anywhere else: loose cheese scones (not the 4 packs, the ones off the bakery dept) and they parmesan and caramelised onion savoury biscuits(which are perfect with seasonal drinkies)
Other than that.....other stores can match or better.:A Goddess :A0 -
Not pork or alcohol? If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Not pork or alcohol?
Doesn't seem to be a problem in my local M&S - often bought these AND had ladies wearing the hijab on the till! Mind you, I'd be a bit p---d off if I queued for ages behind someone who'd bought a packet of biscuits, three pairs of trousers, two nightgowns and a jumper (and wanted the hangers), only to be told 'sorry, love, can't serve you those sausages'.
But all in all I find it a decent food shopping experience and the staff are always much more polite and helpful than those in Sainsburys.0 -

Good question, their salad dressings and coleslaw are great,as are their deli fillers.
However, I do think this years party food was very poor, having purchased some from waitrose, Heston range and party range and compared them side by side, to be honest I would not buy from M and s for party food again. It was up imaginative, tasteless and greasy compared to waitrose, very disappointed.0
