What do you buy in M&S food that makes you shop there?

I don't understand why people pay the prices? What is so special?

It's easy to park , it's never crowded so convenient for the odd bits. I
would rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon then endure ASDA which is next door

My local M and S is well crowded, was in there the other day to spend a gift voucher, prices were steep, would never shop there on a day to day basis.

Like waitrose, m & s eggs are a higher welfare standard; fresh meat on equivalent offers to other supermarkets but better quality, higher standard, better options - e.g. Parmesan stuffed veal meatballs.

Fruit and veg while yes you can pay premium compared to value ranges is good quality, tastes good and lasts unlike I did particularly Morrisons fresh produce can be poor.

M&S also do nice own brand lines of soup etc, cleaning products aren't tested on animals, bread is gorgeous too.

I could go on but I'll stop there xxx
  • If you have to ask, you won't appreciate it!! So much of the stuff they sell is superior to that sold elsewhere.
  • Dark soy sauce, not filled with rubbish and half the price of similar sauces.

    Salads, delicatessen, sushi
  • Lightly dusted and seeded haddock (or cod) fillets but only when on 3 for £10. Also their cook-in/pasta sauces when on 3 for 2.

I don't, I find them very overrated and expensive!

I once had a £25 voucher to spend in there and it took me ages to decide what to use it on (wanting value for money), in the end I bought some Lamb Chops having to add another £3 or so to it (and there were not that many chops) when we came to eat them they were nothing to shout about and could have bought better, cheaper elsewhere. Never been a great M&S fan even for their clothing which mostly seems frumpy.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
