If he's just peeped the horn and drove on, I suspect he's more likely to have done so by accident.
If he gave a long blast at the horn, made eye contact and mouthed a lot of abuse in your direction, before driving off at speed, you would have a case.0 -

Sounds like youve got a point to make but im not sure what it is other than the points i posted are true-straight from the horses mouth.0 -

You might want to be careful, such vehicles are easy targets for fuel tank drillers, oh and then there's the issue of exhaust (metal) theft from vans and 4x4's too.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Family used to live in a very affluent area, lots of BIG houses (we're talking 900k+ in todays money). Most of the houses had 10+ year old cars on the drive. People with insane amounts of money, but very down to earth and friendly.
We moved to a small village, a complete contrast, lots of medium sized 3-4 bedroom homes, fancy cars on the drive (or private plates on older vehicles), almost every home had walled front garden with electric gates.
The residents (with the exception of people who'd lived their decades), we're all arrogant and self important tw@s, all what you'd call "new money", except they didn't have any money, just lot's of debt.
This makes me chuckle and hits the nail nicely.Where?
I'm talking about premium 4x4s.
Who said they needed an X5? Or an ML or a Range Rover Sport?
Show me where someone said they *needed* one.
Premium is that sales talk for Hairdressers?
A lot of truly rich people know that regular people have a chip on their shoulder about wealth. That may well be customers, or clients.
Not a good idea to turn up at a clients in a Ferrari - makes them think you're fleecing them.
A mate of mine is a motor trader and he'd the most beautiful Porsche. He loved it to bits. Had to sell it in the end as it got to the point where some people refused to sell him a car because they thought he was clearly making too much money.
Moreoften in this country we dont feel pleased for the success of others, we resent it.
Tosh, Some REALLY don't care what anyone thinks, Im guessing your from a very different world to mine. When the police manage to remove all of the uninsured idiots and others who generally can't drive for toffee from our roads and stop all the old folk from driving after swallowing 30mg of codiene for breakfast I may consider the roads a safe enough place to be in a small car, until then I'll keep my big luxurious 4x4 and drive around knowing they should I have the misfortune to interact with one of the aforementioned muppets there is a good likley hood that myself, my wife and baby will not be the ones visiting the intensive care unit , besides which I don't smoke or drink so I really don't see it as anybody else's business if I choose to spend my hard earned on diesel fuel , there are many other reasons but I don't really fell the need to justify what I do with my money, been driving for 27 years now accident free so I don't see my big vehicle as more of a danger than people who seem to have regular accidents in smaller cars
Really???? as said your actually more prone to injury, and just to add most fatal Car crashes are due to brain traumas these days, no amount of metal will protect you from this, bleeding and swelling of the brain is caused by the sudden stop as the brain moves and hits the inside of your skull.
Actually your above post highlights many of the problems with Car drivers, they blame over users, Its a typical aggressive driving style, I have an HGV and like Motorcycle drivers you need to drive defensive, So assume you must allways expect everyone else to do the damnedest to hit you.
I also have to move and escort large kit about and this highlights how bloody terrible driving standards have become, It doesn't matter how many beacons boards or flashing lights both the wide load and escort has, at least 50% of drivers will not stop, driving around the escort to expect a 4.2m load to find a space on a road thats 4.1m wide. Then to boot have zero ability to reverse. Put a bank holiday into the mix and its carnage.0 -

For the love of the baby jesus, most on here who own or has owned a 4x4 has said they drive one "because they want to".
Few have said its for a genuine practical reason.
What more do you want?0 -

No, its sales talk for ermmm... Premium 4x4s?

Yes, SOME, and as i said a lot are very concious about perception and image.
And yes, i do live in a different world to yours. Mines called "reality".0 -

Because it's been said on a thread it's now fact?
I only really know (first hand) of 1 car v 4x4 accident (a vectra coincidentally).
Vectra 1 death out of 1 occupant, Landcruiser 0 deaths out of 2 occupants.0 -
I drive one because of my ridiculously large t1ts.
Honestly.
When I had my daughter I was virtually crippled by getting her car seat out of the (lowered) sports car. My centre of gravity is in the middle of my ribs. She was only going to get bigger/heavier so I needed a car that put her at a better height for me getting her out. The additional boot space was brilliant when carting stuff hundreds of miles for family visits and it's very comfortable on a long drive.
So there. T1ts.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

I've started a threat to get people talking and it's gone pretty well so far hasn't it, with views from both sides of the fence?
No, in my opinion you started the thread to start arguments
And looking at the way you react to criticism and the thread title that you consider yourself a little bit more "intellectual" than you are in reality.0
