christmas magic

I just had to share this with you.

yesterday my youngest daughter and I were catching the bus to nursery for her second visit before she starts in the new year.

As we got almost to the bus stop the bus came, I was sure we would miss it but it waited for us, very unusual round here.

Well as we got closer imagine our surprise to see that father christmas was driving the bus, and if ever there was a more convincing santa it was he.

He had a huge bushy white beard twinkling blue eyes and a lovely smile.
Lilly looked up and the amazement and wonder on her face was beautiful to see.
Hello father christmas she gasped.
Hello he replied in a beautiful rumbly tone and she just stared and smiled the biggest smile ever.

Are you taking me to nursery she asked.
He nodded with a wink of his twinkly blue eyes
I love you father christmas she shouted as we sat down.
The whole bus was watching spell bound a few old dears wiped their eyes and I have to say I misted up myself.

She didn't take her eyes off him the whole journey and every so often he would give her a little wave in the mirror.
As we got off I thanked him, telling him he had made her Christmas and mine for that fact.

She raced into nursery with no hesitation telling everyone she saw about father Christmas driving the bus, yesterday she was very shy and didn't speak much to the teachers.
Every so often yesterday she would remember and a huge smile filled her face and she would burst out, father christmas drove me to nursery!

I have to admit to a small part of me believing it was him:)

Christmas magic is alive and well.

That's lovely! I would write to the bus company to tell them how their driver made everyone's day. :T

Thats beautiful. Am so glad I was not on the bus, as I would have been bubbling up myself over it. Well done Father Christmas!!!!

The lady sat in front of me told me she had asked him if all the drivers were doing it, perhaps for charity, but no just him, he said just seeing the lo's, and a few big ones, faces when they saw him made his Christmas.
I think what made it even more magical is he didn't really speak just a hello and goodbye and a knowing smile.

    Gosh welling up again.
    It was definitely Father Christmas!

  • What a lovely story. I would write to the bus company too, he deserves some recognition.
