Thanks for understanding INOD - the jobs we are having done such as the room renovation are needed too as they are causing problems so both investing and maintaining propertyCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Stooze bill arrived so i have sent the payment to that
Done some assignment work.
Had another sort of LBM - i mentioned keeping things i love / are useful etc. realised i have quite a few clothes: work / summer / winter / casual / nights out / weddings etc. But i don't *love* all my clothes so hopefully this will help with a quick cull and i'll still have enough to wear
Off to look through clothes and accessories and then back to it... maybe after some food as i am peckish now xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Well that was a productive bit of time. Pots washed. Brekkie/lunch cooked and eaten. A very easy 11 items decluttered - this will only be 9 towards bay of e target though as 1 is going as a set and 1 item straight to the carboot due to low value 99p at most and postage will way outweigh that. So still more items to find but good progress towards the target.
I also had a bit of a look at paving and although price will depend on size to be covered of course i think the paving will come in at less than £300, (this is based on a rough, rather than exact estimate of size) we will take up the old paving / stones ourselves to save money + i will list these pavings for collection only sale at a very cheap cost. Our paving is very old and loose so quite dangerous really as it is on a different level to the rest of the garden. There are 2 areas which need paving and we have not been able to find paving which matched what we have (as i would happily keep this) and we *think* having matched paving areas will make the garden look alot better and again, when the selling time comes it will look better and tie-in more with the 'landscaped' area. The other area is just quite unattractive gravel - i will transfer that to the path area that is not often used
So i will pencil in a £500 target for this as well as if its £700 (no idea on cost of laying and making 1 area level rather than sloped) i *think* my Mr would contribute too. I of course do like planning and think i am feeling positive and good about things after so long where we have managed with things that we could not afford to do anything about
I am of course only thinking about the paving now as my Mr mentioned the guttering so after loft & gutters targets have been met i will be saving for a new gate and the paving
Tea for today and tomorrow planned from stores and freezer inventory updated accordingly :T
cashback site checked but nothing for me to take advantage of
Will look at skirts in case i missed any in the declutter and bags again i think
i have got a couple of things i would part with but i don't think they're in good enough condition to sell so i will wear them until they fall apart- they look great but are not in perfect condition is all.
Rightio - assignment then declutter - when i pop back i may update targets to keep track of what i'm saving for and whenCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hope you are feeling better now, I was a bit under the weather at the weekend too, which is a shame when it's a holiday weekend.
Sounds like you've been productive on eBaying. I did a ludicrous amount of re-listing over the long weekend, plus 5 new listings. If everything sold, it'd take ages to pack everything.
Must admit, I'm starting to look forward to all the changes in May.... I feel as if I need to get off the eBay treadmill for a while. If things remain unsold by mid May, they'll be going into bulk lots. I'm not too concerned about what price I get either, just want things out of the house!
I've got some clothes I wear round the house, which have gone beyond being decent enough for eBay. As you said, I wear them until they fall apart.
I think it's very wise to spend some money on your house, when needed - it's our major investment in life, and needs to be maintained and protected:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks Goldie,
I hope you are feeling better now? To be honest i haven't been right all weekend but soldiered on and ignored my stomach but yesterday lunchtime it hitI still feel a bit wibbly and yuck today
So i am pacing myself with a bit of assignment and a bit of decluttering and a bit of a break
I admit that i was also looking forward to a break from the bay of e but as i do need the income from it then i need to do what i can right now  but as you say with some things i am happy for them to go even for a small return. Have you thought about doing a carboot at all? Anything that doesn't sell (that i'm not bothered about keeping) i am going to take to the carboot
I know what you mean on the packaging *shudders* but i do feel good everytime something is shipped off and of course the money does help
Target for bay of e was to get to 30 of 50 today and i have just remembered something else i decided to sell so thats 29 of 50 that i am up to now :TCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Yes thanks, I'm a lot better now. Not sure what happened really, one minute I was fine on Saturday night, next thing I was so sick and dizzy the only thing I could do was go and lay down!
I've only ever been to one car boot sale in my life - we were on a weekend break one Easter, and there was a boot sale on Southsea sea front on the Easter Sunday It really was good fun, and it's on my to do list to look round a local one this summer. I think I need to have a good look round and see what happens, before I launch myself as a seller at a boot sale!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hey Goldie, glad you are much better now then
A good idea to have a look around a few carboots before deciding to sell at one too

Morning All,
Hope everyone is well?
Please feel free to ignore this post - after much deliberation decided to get stuff out of my head and onto here in the hope to draw a line under things
i have been let down by some people lately and i am not happy about it. 1 friend offered and promised to help me out and then did not without any reason or explanation. We have shared some good times together and I have helped out with babysitting, meals for us, given her things of mine which she has liked when i have decided to part with them, lots of things really. So i was quite angry and upset but i have not said anything and decided just to leave it.
Some other friends i feel have taken advantage of what can be mine and my mr's generous and friendly nature
So all of this has upset me alot. i have not been sleeping well and then have things going through my mind so thought i'd get this down here to hopefully deal with it. With being let down i have just decided to keep it cool and friendly with them - no point creating a drama. Since letting me down they have popped round to ask for / borrow bits and pieces of things but i am just going to start saying 'no' nowits not in my nature to be like that but in a way it is also being taken advantage of i feel
With the other friends i have felt like this for a while but my mr has finally realised the same so i think we will be a bit more careful when we are with them, which is a shame really. *sigh*CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Achieved 30 of 50 items for bay of e - some things had best sell this week otherwise there won't be the room for them! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Also got another bag of things together for the carboot.
Went through my stash of toiletries and lifted bits out to use up as wellCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
I am really going to try and renew my focus on the money i spend - especially on the food shop. It is hard with having to buy set things every week so the budget cannot be slashed completely but i will be carefully considering all purchases. In the meantime the freezer will be run down as much a possible - there really is such a lot in there!
I do try to be careful with money but i think its easy to spend a £1 here or there when its not much money and also after a hard day / week at workSo all purchases will be weighed up carefully.
Having said that i was congratulating myself on splitting a tin between breakfast yesterday and today - until i was ill and just had to stop eating _pale_ pretty put out at the wasted food actually :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It is also really cold here and i could easily pop the heating on but am trying to keep that 'hidden' cost down too.
I am going to have another perusal of my wardrobe after to see if there is anything i've missed out / don't really love.
Decided already to give a top to family. Will need to keep 2 work tops which i have totally gone off but i am not prepared to spend money to replace. Thinking a skirt can go too. it is all rock and roll here
I am definitely appreciating the space more as well - even the space that is in the wardrobe - it is easy to see everything and there is no battle to put things away.
Advice pleaseI have necklace from family, had it years and never worn it and never will - it is simply taking up space in a drawer - i have 3 other pieces of jewellery from this person which i can keep for sentimental reasons and will wear - would it be wrong to sell it ? I would be happy to sell it and get £30 for it but it is only worth about £10 (gold) and i know they paid alot more for it which is why i am not sure. But it really is just taking up room
