Updated mortgage end date based on the payment i made the other day - would be nice to get it into 2034 before the end of this year - be brilliant obviously to get it alot lower than that but realistically it could be into 2034 with the next 3 payments i have planned *fingers crossed*

had a lovely night out with friends last night - was really good fun though not cheap which is the reason these things happen so rarely - if i could afford to move then we could get together more often as they could stay with us *le sigh* in the meantime, we need to do the work that needs doing on our house so we can maybe have them round for a meal which i hope would cost less - i'd need to ask them to bring drinks & i'd need to search out tasty recipes which are also inexpensive :o

Just off to start a roast dinner for us for today - earlier we went out to collect a couple of essential items required for the job. Also popped to the shops & unusually for me, i treated myself to some jewelry - a fraction of the price from an outlet store & these were just single items so not as though i could get them another time. I also did some winter prep by buying a coatigan and a jumper - again from a discount shop so some great savings for some real quality items which will last years. Still, purse is now firmly shut ;)

Hope all are well and i hope to read some diaries soon there is just very little time to get on the comp at the mo.

  • I am trying to do time management this week too.
Are you sleeping enough? You may feel you don't have time, but you will get stuff done in half the time with plenty of rest.xx

  • Hello all

chocs thank you for the PM :D

shs i have not been sleeping well of late as i have a lot of things on my mind :( i also have a thyroid problem with medication that keeps needing to be altered so have been pretty run down with that too :o Thank you for the input though :)

Today i am mainly working on college work, interspersed with breaks for cleaning jobs, preparing packed lunches for the coming week and popping on here as a little reward :D

Decluttering update posted. i am pleased with things leaving the house - the pillows was great - we have 4 pillows on our bed and yet we both only use 1 each. By getting rid of the extra ones the bed looks better and that wall line along the room does too as there are less things there. Also i have less to strip off the bed for washing now and less to dry / move / put back on etc. so it has really made things easier - a small thing but good for me and for us i think :)

The target of a 1000 will or should be hard to achieve but i set the target high to make me consciously consider things as i am moving them / sorting them out etc. this is working well so far. I haven't started to empty and sort areas again other than my make-up drawer and there was only 1 eye shadow to part with after all that.

College is good but hard work - especially the amount of home study involved and the time actually spent in college as well. i am now using my car alot more. i catch the train home from work now then drive to college. This is costing more in petrol and parking costs but does allow me to get home at least 30 minutes earlier than i would do otherwise. The college library is closed when class finishes so alls i could do otherwise is stand around on the train station platform so driving seemed like the sensible choice

Other news on the money front is that things are very tight - paying for this course is a bill i have to pay each month and there is no overtime at work, we don't receive bonuses anyway, and if there is any payrise available this would no doubt be minimal as it has been in previous years and won't come until at least april. So selling things on the bay of e seems to be the obvious choice for raising some funds - although, as mentioned previously, there seems to be very little left to sell.. i have considered getting a second job but with only 4 free evenings and 3 free days a week (satday and sunday) where i need to study and spend time with family the options are limited. I may apply for a second job but i need to complete a fair bit of practice before submitting as i know there's tests involved :o = ok will write that into the weekly schedule as something to keep a focus on ;)

i'm going to a halloween fancy dress party this year - does anyone know of any good face paints please?

    Hope all are well :)

  • A second job  I think that should be an absolute last resort.

Good to use the car to get yourself home more quickly after a very long day. That's what they are for and to save hanging around in the cold during winter.

    Take care x

Unfortunately chocs, with my income & the high interest rate i am on for the mortgage :( its pretty much a necessity - i bought this house when my income was about double what it is now hence why everything is a constant struggle - and i've only just got my salary to what it is now after several years - previously it was about a third of my former income

That's really tough :(. That scenario sometimes keeps me awake at night. Hopefully, it will be short term and you'll be able to get a better paid job from your course.

    Look after yourself x
